Cricut Venture Smart Die-Cutting Machine, White

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have wanted a larger cutting machine for a long time, but I was worried about making sufficient space for it in my craft room. The design of the Venture Machine, because of its 45º angle, means that I don't need as much square footage as I had anticipated for a machine that has these cutting capabilities. I also love that the angle of it means that it it extremely easy to load and unload. I am so grateful for the step by step instructions in Design Space that make it so easy to switch between different sizes and materials. What I was not expecting is the speed at which it accurately scores, writes and cuts my designs. It's just amazing!

This machine is beyond amazing, the speed, accuracy, and capabilities are endless! I own an Air 3, 2 Air 2's, 2 Makers, and the Joy and this has blown them all away! As a small business owner this machine has reduce the amount of time I cut projects by half! I used to speed weekends cutting multiple items of the same template with 4 machines going now all I need is this one! As long as your willing to learn and put in the time the Venture will work for you! My only con is that I cannot use my Maker scoring wheel.

I purchased my Venture on release day. At the time the stand was not yet available so I had to wait to order that. I really was not expecting to love this machine so much. I have been using it non stop for literally everything. I absolutely love my Maker 3 and still use that for things the venture can't do ( like using the special blades for perforation and the knife blade for heavy chipboard), but the Venture has been my go-to machine for everything else. It has done a flawless job with everything I have thrown at it. I have done everything from print then cut for stickers and embellishments to several layers of a greeting card on a single mat. I even used it to make a 22 inch by 6 foot long decal for a friend. Everything is so fast compared to my other machines and the cuts are so clean. Even really small cuts are cutting clean. I have made giant 22x28 inch coloring posters for my granddaughter and even a giant 3D elephant that was 21" tall and 35" wide. It has been an amazing time saver to be able to make a whole card that has several layers in different colors on a single mat. There are other large format cutting machines out there that are a little cheaper but I am so glad I chose the Venture. It works with the same design space that I already know and love and the angle of the cutting deck on the machine means I don't need to have several feet of space behind and in front of the machine to use it. That was a truly genius design on Cricut's part! This machine was built to last and I have no doubt I will be using it for years to come.

I absolutely love the new Venture! It was an easy set up, I made my first project right away. I craft a lot , but don't sell anything so this was just for me. The speed and ease that it makes multiple projects is amazing. My Christmas crafting is off to a good start! I do also have the Maker which I still use. The Venture gives me more flexibility to make larger projects.

I only wish the large cardstock was readily available as it defeats the purpose of the venture to be able to cut out larger projects Without a source for full size cardstock compatible with the venture it becomes useless .

Love the machine but not a fan of only having to use Cricut vinyl. The color choices are basic and I cannot utilize my rolls of 24” vinyl I already have. I probably should have read up a little more and I probably would not have purchased. I do commercial signs and cannot use this machine for large projects that are longer than the 28” mat, So a waste of money for my business. The setup is great and good for small projects. The Cricut vinyl really needs a larger choice of colors not just the basic ones. If you have orange, you should have an array of orange from a pastel to neon. Also the vinyl is pricey compared to other brands. But I'm stuck with it and will have to purchase another cutting machine that will accommodate the 24” vinyl for my larger projects.

The Venture really is geared more towards higher production crafters than to the casual user. I find that the Cricut Maker I have is easier to use for my small projects for reasons such as the fact that the Venture does not use the scoring wheel tool, but only the scoring pen. And though it says pens and things from the Maker will work in the Venture they only work if you stick wads of tape around them. Finally, the Venture determines what size material you need to use and you can't vary from that so it's difficult to use scraps easily. It does cut much faster and cuts wider and longer pieces, but if you don't plan on doing those type of projects often, I wouldn't recommend spending the money for this machine.

I love the speed and the large format of the Venture and have been cutting mostly card stock on mats daily. I'm concerned about the back mat holder falling apart every time I move the holder and just recently noticed my mats curling on the edges. Otherwise, set-up and operation is pretty easy. Not convinced it's worth the price yet. I make items for personal/family use.

I got this to cut larger leather pieces for bags and other items that the regular maker can do. Nope! It's very limited and not like the advanced or industrial/professional version I thought it was. You can do pretty much simple things larger and faster. Absolutely no use to me.
