I absolutely love the new Venture! It was an easy set up, I made my first project right away. I craft a lot , but don't sell anything so this was just for me. The speed and ease that it makes multiple projects is amazing. My Christmas crafting is off to a good start! I do also have the Maker which I still use. The Venture gives me more flexibility to make larger projects.
This machine is beyond amazing, the speed, accuracy, and capabilities are endless! I own an Air 3, 2 Air 2's, 2 Makers, and the Joy and this has blown them all away! As a small business owner this machine has reduce the amount of time I cut projects by half! I used to speed weekends cutting multiple items of the same template with 4 machines going now all I need is this one! As long as your willing to learn and put in the time the Venture will work for you! My only con is that I cannot use my Maker scoring wheel.
I purchased my Venture on release day. At the time the stand was not yet available so I had to wait to order that. I really was not expecting to love this machine so much. I have been using it non stop for literally everything. I absolutely love my Maker 3 and still use that for things the venture can't do ( like using the special blades for perforation and the knife blade for heavy chipboard), but the Venture has been my go-to machine for everything else. It has done a flawless job with everything I have thrown at it. I have done everything from print then cut for stickers and embellishments to several layers of a greeting card on a single mat. I even used it to make a 22 inch by 6 foot long decal for a friend. Everything is so fast compared to my other machines and the cuts are so clean. Even really small cuts are cutting clean. I have made giant 22x28 inch coloring posters for my granddaughter and even a giant 3D elephant that was 21" tall and 35" wide. It has been an amazing time saver to be able to make a whole card that has several layers in different colors on a single mat. There are other large format cutting machines out there that are a little cheaper but I am so glad I chose the Venture. It works with the same design space that I already know and love and the angle of the cutting deck on the machine means I don't need to have several feet of space behind and in front of the machine to use it. That was a truly genius design on Cricut's part! This machine was built to last and I have no doubt I will be using it for years to come.
Great upgrade for my art practice. I was at the point where I had to buy two Cricuts to handle the workload I needed for my art. So when I saw the large one it was a dream come true! I can cut large shapes or vinyl for installations or lots of smaller things at once. It's super fast and looks great in the studio!
i love it go bigger it did what i want it to do ? i used mats 24x28 inches
It is a great machine cuts fast but it does not use adaptive tools.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Cricut Venture was easy to assemble and setup using a MacBook. Remember to add the venture to the Bluetooth first. The machine can cut intricate designs at fast speeds. I also cut large 4.5' long pyramids and applied to the wall. I used with the 25" smart vinyl.
I really wanted to love this but I would be lying if I said I'd recommend this to any crafter. I was dancing when it arrived but one day of cutting and I'm exhausted. If you craft with a lot of paper, cardstock, vinyl and light materials, then MAYBE. Soon as I loaded kraft cardstock (Cricut brand, at that), it required the deep cut blade. That was unusual because the Maker series spoiled me. You use the regular blade. I'm so disappointed. Even for the sale price, I feel like I spent too much. That's saying a LOT because every Venture item I bought, I purchased on sale (including the stand). PROS: Fastest cutting Cricut machine. Great for batch vinyl cutting Largest print then cut capacity (of all Cricut machines) Ideal for Smart Materials Ease of use; beginner friendly CONS: Does NOT cut thicker materials well. Pressure needs to be adjusted and because it cuts faster, it may damage materials Mats aren't sticky enough for heavier materials Requires more time and effort to work with thicker materials This machine is more like the Explore series as opposed to a “new” machine. Can adjust the pressure, but not the speed I didn't read the reviews before I purchased, but I wish I had. I would've bought it for my vinyl and light paper crafting anyway. I just would've been more realistic with my expectations.
This was a great machine until they stopped making the light grip 24" x 28" mat. Now I can't use it for cutting large sheets of stickers. The standard grip mat is waaaayyy too sticky and is next to impossible to get the stickers off without loosing the backing or spending all day doing it. It's really a disappointment. I now have to purchase a competitor machine that can do large cut sheets without using mats.
I got this to cut larger leather pieces for bags and other items that the regular maker can do. Nope! It's very limited and not like the advanced or industrial/professional version I thought it was. You can do pretty much simple things larger and faster. Absolutely no use to me.
