Great paddle

Bobbyjr1 June 21, 2016

This paddle has a wide surface and moves a lot of water. The shafts diameter is bigger around than shorelines asymmetrical paddle. It is a 2 piece paddle that has a metal center instead of plastic like Caviness. This is important because I have broken plastic connectors before in the middle of a trip. It's symmetrical with the paddles being spoon shaped. I would buy this paddle again.

Sturdy and wider paddle face.

Gena May 14, 2021

This is our second paddle like this because we loved the first one so much. Not only is it very sturdy, but it also has a larger paddle face than most of the lighter weight paddles. That affords greater control in the water. Plus, the price is right!

Nice big faces for extra large kayak

Zach July 19, 2024

Much larger paddle area on this one than all my others and just as light and they also sell an extender segment for the middle if your boat is extra wide

Good Paddle

sideboiler June 20, 2016

This paddle is a very good buy for the price. It is strong enough to do the job. It may be a little heavier than some paddles but that is what you would expect in this price range. It gets the job done well.

Paddle

Got this paddle for my granddaughter and it is great. She has no problem maneuvering her kayak. She loves it.

Functional and easy to spot with yellow blades.

Robert May 7, 2020

Bought this after leaving my original one behind. It is a good functional paddle and if you leave things behind like I do, it is also a good price.

Good Paddle for the price

ElectricAmish July 4, 2016

Used it once so far and it worked great. I liked how quickly you can adjust the pitch of the blades for optimal performance.

Paddle

katie August 14, 2016

I got a 500 kayak from Dicks Sporting Goods and didn't want to spend an extra 70 on a paddle. I ordered this one, and it showed up in a few days. Works great

Stong and pushes lots of water, hope its straight

Alwaysbroke July 10, 2021

I chose this paddle because I already had the blue, assymetrical 7" paddle made by Crooked Creek. However, I wanted an 8" paddle this time, and other reviewers mentioned that this paddle would push a lot of water. That is exactly what I wanted. The good: This paddle is 8' and DOES push a lot of water. It is one of the strongest paddles I have seen, with very stiff blades. The fit of the two pieces at the center is very good, it feels almost like a one piece paddle when out on the water paddling hard with it. The price, it was the only paddle that fit what I wanted, but in my price range. The bad: Not me, but a lot of people would say the weight. Being one of the sturdiest paddles, means it weighs a little more than most paddles. To me a few ounces seems insignificant, but it seems to be a major deal to a lot of people. The big thing for me is that although the paddle is made strong, quality control lacked on getting things straight. Even when selecting the middle hole to join the paddle together, it was feathered around 10 or 15 degrees. I ended drilling a new hole for the button, to line up with one of the feathering holes, to make it straight. It also features a lump down one grip for reference, but it is also at a funny angle, which makes it harder to hold the paddle straight. I knocked of a star for these, almost 2, otherwise it would be a five star paddle. Other thing I would have liked is a choice of colors, but I think this paddle is already discontinued, as I had a hard time finding places where it was sold. The grips on this paddle are also just a smooth coating, rather than the thicker, grippier ones on my older paddle. This really is a great paddle, but I got off to a bad start. Originally, I was sent only half the paddle. I returned it, and they sent me a new one. This new one is the one with the holes drilled off, but I'm keeping it anyway.
