Bought these porch chairs to match the Crosley Bates sofa glider. For the price they are good chairs and sturdy. Perfect for use around an outside table. Assembly was tricky at first and must use muscles creating torque to push back bottom tubes in together. Very nice looking chairs with just a bit of give, like old Motel Chairs but not quite as large.
I'm in Love with my 2 Red Chairs. vintage style, bright color, so charming too. love them!
The chairs are very well made and computable. I have 2 chairs l bought 2 years ago and they still look new. We have 112 temp and they are not faded by the sun and being around the pool
Arrived in 2 days. As others have noted, 1 of the seats had a couple of dents from the factory in it, obviously dented before powder coating. Otherwise it would be 5 stars. It took about 90 minutes for me to assemble both chairs by myself. As the instructions state: do not tighten bolts until all of them are installed. Save the bolt that attaches upper arm to the back of chair for last. You will need to apply pressure to align this one. I believe this is to load tension in the chair that gives it some spring when you sit in it. I have one of these that is at least 50 years old that is still in good shape. These have the same measurements and appear to be very sturdy. The rubber buttons pre-installed on the bottom of the legs should prevent scratching the finish on our concrete porch.
Difficult getting the arms in place. Took a lot of strength for one person to assemble. Finished product nice
As reported previously, there is one step in assembly that makes these chairs a little hard for one person to put together. But with an extra pair of hands for five minutes, it's not difficult. And the chair I'm using seems to be sturdy enough for seating most people. It supports a small bounce, but not a rocking motion. Right now I have one chair out in front of the house with the Crosley Bates glider and table I purchased a few years ago. I spray painted them all ""green apple"" and made colorful cushion covers and also pillows for the glider.
These are very lovely chairs. My only complaint is the difficulty in assembling them. The included tools are not very good but fortunately my husband had what was needed to put the chairs together.
I love the look of the chairs. They seem sturdy. They were not the easiest to put together. The back piece of the legs could not go together all the way if we wanted to be able to attach the chair arms to the seat.
You are gonna need a friend, five arms, or three tentacles to assemble these things. And if the base slips apart, you're gonna need blood pressure medication. The hardware should have included Xanax. Do NOT assemble if you have a loaded gun in the house.
The last leg hole is about 2 inches out further. I had to sit on the leg with all my 175 lbs to be able to get the bolt on. Could not have tightened it without my drill!!! This was on both chairs!!!
