Crunch Labs by Mark Rober, Experience Mind Blowing Fun with The Egg Drop Challenge, Ages 8+

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loves these kits. He loves this one because he can use both a real egg or the fake egg that it comes with if you don't want to waste foods. It's great for the kids to experiment with what does and does not work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our kids ages 8 & up had a blast putting this one together, it's not too difficult and there's very simple instructions on how to create a basic egg drop project, but you can also be creative and make your own, and there's extra parts to do whatever you want. It's also nice that there's a carrying case in case you want to put it away and store it instead. I also wasn't sure if we needed an actual egg for this, but they include a toy egg with a cool slime that goes inside making it actually a little bit messy when it cracks. As opposed to a big mess that a real egg would make, it's actually fun to try to see whether it's gonna crack. There's a lot of good science lessons that can come out of this so it's both educational and fun which is great. Once the kids got started, they didn't want to stop. The main challenge when you first introduce this is to get your kids to try it and start building- it's not something they naturally gravitate to these days unless they have done science experiments before, but science can be fun so they will eventually have fun and realize it's actually fun being creative and try new things.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is basically another form of Lego, but kids get to learn about balance and gravity. The pieces are rubber instead of hard plastic, so I don't have to worry about breaking or chipping them. The instruction is very easy to follow. Fun kit!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The CrunchLabs Egg Drop Challenge was so easy to put together! My 8 year old son assembled it and did it fast. The parachute and slime filled egg was his favorite. It was even better that we could keep on experimenting and trying multiple drops. I will definitely look into more kits for him!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok assembly was a little complicated, not going to lie, but somehow that ended up being the fun part. We spent the whole afternoon putting this thing together and honestly it brought us closer than I expected. Then came the real test, throwing the parachute off the patio and watching this poor egg with slime inside drop over and over again like it owed us money. Miraculously it survived more falls than we thought it would, which I am choosing to believe means we actually built it correctly and not just pure luck. Setup outside was easy and the kit traveled well from the living room to the backyard. What I really love is that this kept my kid completely engaged with zero screen time, just thinking, building and laughing the whole time, and I always felt at ease knowing everything in the kit was completely safe for him to handle on this own. Such a fun, slightly chaotic and surprisingly bonding afternoon.

Instead of a real egg, You build a foam and rubber band cage for a plastic egg filled with yellow slime. If the cage fails the egg pops and slime spills. The good: Super fun: the kids loved dropping it from higher and higher spots to see if it will pop Great videos: the instruction video features Mark Robert, so kids actually stay engaged Reusable: you can build, drop, crash, reset and do it all over The bad: The slime: is cleaner than a real egg, but if it pops on dirt or a Dusty floor, it gets hairy and gross immediately The verdict: Buy it if your kids like building things and destroying them. It's fun to do and keeps them entertained for hours. If you really hate slime, you may want to pass😉

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son had a lot of fun building this. He knows who Crunchlabs is and has watched videos so he was very excited to try this. Took him about 45 mins to build on his own and he was able to follow instructions by himself. I think this would make a great gift for kids who enjoy STEAM type projects or toys.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a good time doing this with my 11 year old, it unfortunately did not work and he had to make his own tweaks to the design and add on more balloons and such to get it to work but we finally did!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The kids were excited about this from the second it came home. The packaging is very catchy and enticing. When we got around to it, the pieces were not very easy to assemble. I believe it said 8+ but there is no way... my ten year old who is a master at legos definitely needed an adult's help. Some pieces weren't even on the instructions so we left them out. The strings kept pulling out of the holes of the top piece when we trialed it. The holes are too big so the string just pops right through with the wind force and so it falls apart before hitting the ground. After tying a bigger knot and throwing from high points, it was lackluster and lasted less than 5 min before we were all OVER IT haha.
