These are great for fresh water fishing the curved nose makes hook removal fast and easy.

This is a beefy set of pliers. I have used this several times in saltwater thus far and no rust yet. My only gripes are with how heavy it is, and how its unique shape does not fit many generic plier sheaths. Because it is so heavy, it tends to fall out of place when I bend down, and because it doesn't fit my sheath, it tends to fall out even when I move. Buyer beware, make sure you have the sheath for this particular shape, or at least consider where you'll be stowing it. All around decent purchase and value.

This is a very ergonomically designed product. The rounded handles really help with grip pressure when your handling a fish or doing lure maintenance. Also the scales on the grip help with "grip" because it is not as slippery as a smooth surface grip. The bent angle of the pliers really helps in de-hooking a fish. But the bend angle also means you have to get your hands closer to the fish. So with toothy fish, it's a little unerving, but it does help get at the right angle to unhook a fish. So it is a CON and a PLUS. Another CON is that the pliers are non-spring loaded, so for convenience I had to take away 1-star. For your situation, I still think this is a finely made fish pliers, but because it was not spring loaded and the bent curve of the pliers reduces my reach, I am giving this a 4-star rating.
