Cuisinart 12 Cup Stainless Steel Coffee Maker DCC-1220WM

This is a great coffee maker. Brews Quickly the coffee is HOT and flavorful.. Unlike other coffee makers I have owned in the past,this maker brews a bold but not bitter cup of coffee. The lid DOES come off the carafe for easy cleaning. Well worth the price.

This coffeemaker makes the hottest coffee of any coffeemaker that I have tried. I love truly hot coffee, and so do a lot of other people. Other advantages of this coffeemaker are the extra-strong caraffe and the built-in filter that allows one to avoid using a paper filter if one does not have time or energy to use a paper filter. I love it and am so glad that I made this purchase!

I had tried a 10 cup coffee maker from a good brand, but it did not hold up the first year. We had a Cuisinart for 14 years and I decided to go back to it. I stayed with the 12 cup size, and was pleased to see buttons and no more toggle switch to simply brew a pot. I also had a clean button which I appreciate and was surprised to see "Time last brew", definitely a nice feature since my wife gets up much earlier than me. The closed system keeps the coffee from boiling off, and the heating plate has a perfect temperature. I can't see why anyone would buy a 14 cup pot. This also has an easy clock setting and is the same for setting a program for those who want to come down to a fresh brewed morning coffee. Another surprise was a 3 year warranty. You won't regret buying this coffee maker. Oh, did I mention it also has a filter for the water, and a gold tone grind filter? You can't beat this for functionality, size and excellent coffee!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this auto drip coffee maker to replace the 12 year old Cuisinart Coffee Maker. I was curious about the different design to the top covering the basket, This new design now catches the build up of water and when you open the top the water is funneled back into the well. This change avoids the water dripping down the back of the coffee maker. Might be a small change but it keeps the back and the counter dry. It's a real win!

Not nearly as good as my previous Cuisinart. Coffeepot lid remains attached to coffee pot making it difficult to clean. Coffee holder has a foldable handle making it difficult to hold while cleaning (previous model had a tab extending above the top level of the holder which was perfect for lifting or holding the coffee holder). Using the same filter, amount of coffee and water level as previous coffeepot this model brews faster and not as flavorful as previous model.

I like this coffee maker overall. The coffee is nice and hot, and after about 3 months, still no signs of rust on the warmer plate. But, the handle on the carafe broke today, so that's not good. The handle has a plastic piece that hooks over the top edge of the carafe to hold it in place. Well, that piece gave way I guess because now it moves like a hinge. We almost lost a whole pot of coffee to the kitchen floor. So now we have to buy a new carafe, which is like 30% of the cost of the machine.

Looks great, easy to use. Heating surface too hot and coffee taates burnt before I pour my 2nd cup. this is exactly why I didn't buy a cheaper brand: I thought the Cuisinart would be better. I would have been better off saving my money and buying a cheaper machine. I have to pour the freshly made coffee into an insulated thermos to enjoy a 2nd cup.

We are replacing our older Cuisinart coffee maker, we have had several years, with this one. This was an online order, it I s described as ‘stainless steel', our other makers pot was stainless steel, which just recently (after many uses) the stainless bottom had partially pulled away from the plastic top part. Our disappointment is it is described as ‘stainless steel' the new one's pot is glass, the unit is plastic… anyway, hopefully this coffee maker will last a long time like the first one… can we purchase a stainless steel pot?

Made of mostly cheap and cheap looking plastic. Nothing like my previous 12 cup stainless steel one. I actually ordered the 14 cup stainless steel one which was supposedly in stock but they sent me this. Not a good substitute.

Cuisinart has always been high quality - a quiet coffeemaker without any dripping. However this one is particularly noisy and drips onto the warmer every time I pick up the carafe. Not happy this time.
