Love it! I bought this to replace my 30 year old Cuisinart mini and I have no regrets. It works so much better than the old one and the grind feature is a great upgrade. I have a larger model too but this one is so handy for daily tasks. Cuisinart should consider offering it as is plus an upgraded model with the slice/ shred option.
A gift from my d-i-l. She recently got one for herself and I was interested in its functions and design. It's small but mighty and takes little space on my countertop. I was very impressed my first use; chopping fresh thyme and garlic, then mixing my goat and cream cheeses with some honey. It was perfect in such little time. I don't know how I've lived without this and it's become a regular part of my daily food prep. Thank you Cuisinart!
I had a 3-cup for many, many years. Then I switched to KitchenAid's 5-cup for a few months. I gave that away and came back to Cuisinart (4 cup). I'm so glad to be back using a smooth-running, easy to use, well-made product that I will enjoy for many, many years
I have a larger Cuisinart food processor that I have had since about 1973 and it still works great. So, when I wanted a smaller version I did not consider any other brand. Great decision! This smaller version is powerful enough for almost daily use! I'll still use my larger one for bigger jobs but I am so glad I chose to get a smaller one and a Cuisinart!!
I replaced my old Cuisinart mini chopper with this 4 cup two speed model. 4 cusps is, for me, a good size and I really like the reversing two speed design. I have made butter, chopped vegies and course spices. Works perfectly. The two speeds are great for making butter too.
This little machine is doing a lot of heavy lifting for me right now to prep nutrient-dense meals as I recover my health, and it handles everything I throw at it. It turns hours of chopping/mashing into just a few seconds of work. It's reliable, easy to clean, and exactly what I needed to make this lifestyle change sustainable.
While we have a food processor, for smaller batches the 4 cup chopper provides a good base for rough/fine chops of vegetables. The buttons are basic, the cup large enough for a single medium to large onion, and the device does a fine job of chopping vegetables. The bowl is easy to clean, and a rinse between each vegetable chopped is all that's needed before proceeding to the next vegetable prep.
What's most important to me is this device's ability to save me time and also money. i'm a single guy and I prefer to cook every day and I don't like pre-prepared frozen meals. Onions, peppers, garlic, all chop in seconds. Homemade vinaigrettes, salad dressings and marinades happen in seconds, and taste better than bottled ones from the supermarket—preservative- free with fresh ingredients guarantee a better taste. Of course I still use my larger Cuisinart, but this food processor I use almost every day and it gives my chef's knife a break. Don't forget salsa, guacamole, and tapenades.
The blade is hard to remove : I have to take the bowl off to get the blade loose, making disassembly challenging. The cord storage area is not well designed. I normally attach a self adhesive cord storage winder, but the curved body offers no flat area to attach one. I preferred the smaller capacity cuisinart I had before this one. Oh well.
Solid, powerful, cleans easily. However, my primary use is Indian cooking - I want to take 6 cloves of garlic and 2 inches of ginger root, cut them into small cubes, put them in and get a ginger garlic paste consistency. However, it's too small a quantity for this 4 cup machine. The bits just get flung to the side. I have to start and stop, use a spatula about 20 times to get a paste.
