Bought this to replace a 2 year electric kettle from a different manufacturer that had stopped working. Appreciate the 3 year warranty on this product. It is easy to operate. The water temperature is able to be increased or decreased in 5 degree increments which makes for quicker adjustments. The flow rate out of the spout is nice - pours quickly. The matte black finish is classic.
A very nice gooseneck tea kettle. I find the controls self explanatory and it is easy to use. Quickly gets my water to my desired temp and pours very smoothly.
My daughter asked for this for her birthday. She has used it and says she loves it. She is very health conscience and prefers not to use a microwave to heat water is her health alternative and uses it for her tea.
Son had one in his apartment and my wife liked using it so purchased one for home. Incredibly fast and convenient for daily tea and can also be taken on trips in hotels.
Overall, this is a good kettle. It has a liter capacity which nicely accommodates my pour over coffee carafe. It heats quickly and maintains temp well. Easy to use. I wish the digital readout was an individual degree readout rather than grouped in five degree increments.
I like the kettle. It functions well and is easy to pour. It is a little noisier than I expected. There is a loud hissing sound as the water boils. I suppose this is just something that can't be avoided if you are trying to boil water fast. But the beeping of controls are much too loud. I think they could be half volume and still just as effective. When the water comes to the correct temperature there are three or four loud beeps. Again, could be half as loud and still effective. I'm not sure if this is meant so you can be in different rooms in the house and hear the beeping. As I'm in an office environment, I feel a bit intrusive that everyone down the hall can hear the beeping. And when the 30 minutes are up and the kettle stops maintaining the temperature, there are more beeps.
I am a tea bag gal. My husband does gong fu style tea brewing. The pour is great into his tiny 150ml (averaged) tea pots. We like the Cuisinart Gooseneck water kettle. Two things could be improved. The MAX line in the kettle should be opposite from the handle for easy reading, as it is you have to twist your wrist and the kettle around to read the MAX line. It was difficult to wrap the excess cord under the base, and were surprised how little would fit in the base. All the other features work quite well. We like the lid design better than our old OXO kettle (OXO's rubber gasket failed). 3 yr warranty is great.
First unit leaked on arrival where spout attaches to body. Replacement unit is sound but seems to heat a tad slower. The black plastic finish scuffs easily, so I'm skeptical it will look great a year from now. Functionality is solid. One minor complaint is how it "sneaks up" on the target temperature by cycling on and off. This totally makes sense except when heating to full boil, where this is not necessary and delays finish time by about 15 seconds. This should have been an easy software tweak to do right. Pour speed is on the fast side, so it takes a bit of finesse to bloom grounds evenly. Overall a good deal at sale price of $80, but cannot recommend at list price.
Looks cheaply made. Lots of cheap looking plastic. Not attractive sitting on counter with prominent cuisinart logo on both sides and clunky design. That said it works well. Heats quickly and easy to pour from precisely. The stay warm feature is great. I didn't realize the temperature control was in 5 degree increments. That's not a big deal for me but many people would probably prefer more precision. Had I seen this in person before purchasing I would have gone with a Fellow kettle, but at half the price, and decent functionality it's not worth my time to exchange it.
I loved almost everything about this kettle, but it emits a loud high-pitched beep when you start it, when you turn it off, and when it reaches full temperature. There is no way to disable this noise, which is so annoying that I had to return it for a refund.
