I bought this food processor about a month ago. I was swayed by the motor warranty (I make nut butter weekly and needed a powerful motor) and the two bowls. The top of the processor has a button release rather than twisting off. The silicone gasket is an additional piece to clean, however, flour doesn't get all over your counter when mixing dough.
My experience is very positive; after 30 years with one of the original machines I bought this one last month. The design improvements are many and it is well worth the change -- it is more powerful, much quieter and seems safer. Too many great new features to list here but I love it. You would not regret buying this new version of the old stand-by.
I am a huge fan of cusinart kitchen helpers. It was disappointing to discard my vintage cusinart with all of the blades. They no longer had the parts for the professional from the late 80s. I was forced to move to the 21st century and love, love, love my Elite. I highly recommend it.
This was purchased to replace my 20-year old, 14-cup model. I decided to upgrade this time, as I consider this appliance to be my co-pilot in the kitchen. I am so impressed with the additional features. The bells & whistles on this model are wonderful and worth the extra but minor expense. I highly recommend this food processor!
I bought this food processor mainly to prepare "Puerto Rican pasteles". I need to grind green bananas, green plantains, tropical pumpkins, eddoes, and potatoes, and mix all together. I used to do it manually before and it was a painful process. This food processor is so powerful that does the task fast and effortlessly. I can't be happier with the purchase.
I love this product so much! I decided to order one after seeing how the product works on the cuisinart website. The feature to make a dough is amazing, no need to kneel the dough anymore, no mess, mix butter and flour really well in seconds, seriously! save a lot of the time, baking and cooking make it easier.
A month in and have used the small and large reservoirs.....have made pesto's, mayo and chopped semi frozen chuck roast into hamburger....this Cuisinart is a beast.....Love it....It is very heavy to move around and the skid tabs on the feet make it hard to pull out of shove back on the counter...we solved by putting the unit on a old wood chopping board and it slides easily now....if you leave on the board when chopping ect it will try to spin slightly....so be aware or take off the board when using.....anyway....A GREAT PURCHASE....
This newer version replaced my former 14 cup Cuisinart that came with a 14 and 10 cup bowl. The 10 cup fit inside the 14 cup and was very difficult to remove. Looks like Cuisinart eliminated that problem by eliminating the 10 cup bowl altogether. Brilliant! New version has more plastic parts, is quieter than previous and works well. I love it!
This is my 5th Cuisinart (3 large 10 to 14 cup size and two little ones), and this is the only one I have not been satisfied with. The past 4 gave/give good service; we cook from scratch about 4 days a week and use the food processors to knock things out quickly. The last 2 large ones gave good service but after about 10 years the safety contacts and motor contacts quit working to an extent that it was almost cheaper to buy a new unit. We shred lots of carrots. Even after watching the video, 3 experienced Cuisinart users could not get the carrots to push straight down; many often turn sideways and we end up with 3 or 4 cups of shredded carrots with 5" long by 1" wide chunks of carrot throughout the bowl. It is disappointing to have to dig through each bowl and find so much wasted food.
