It is quick and easy. I use it weekly and surprise myself with what I can do with it! We make our dogs jerky and other delicious snacks. Kitchen stays cool while it runs. This is a keeper.
First time I used it, I was rather cautious and didn't know exactly how long I should dehydrate the fruits. After reading some helpful hints on the internet I learned how to prevent the fruit from sticking to the trays. The last time I used it it was wonderful. I put a dab of EVOO on a paper towel and ran it over the trays. Then I turned the dehydrator on High and let it go. The result was fantastic. The fruit came right off, did't stick. The fruit was not bendable, but dehydrated to perfection. I am a brand name shopper. I can always depend on Cuisinart for dependable products in my kitchen.
I bought this a few weeks ago. The first one I had trouble with but it was replaced immediately and the replacement was great. It was not noisey at at all and we were able to dry our persimmons. They were delicious and we will be drying more fruit as they become ripe.
This was a Birthday gift replacing one that was borrowed years ago. I like the oval shape it allows for easier spacing of jerky strips on trays. We have been using it regularly for making jerky for us and family and have been happy with the results. It's faster than the old one plus I like the ability to control with the dial settings. I give it a thumbs up
I have had this dehydrator for about three years and it is so quiet that unless you are standing next to it you wouldn't know it was working. It is far superior to the first one, a different brand, which was very noisy and could be heard anywhere in the house. I use it to dry home grown ginger which is then ground for cooking. It does a great job and i wish that I had bought this model in the first place.
Trays are difficult to line up at times. Other than that it is a solid unit, quiet, small footprint, maintains constant temp accurately
This product is ok, I had better ones in the past, the last one that lasted 8 years, I replaced it with this one. One of the things I dislike about this new model that is dosent have a muffle, the vent is wide open, no way to reduce the hot air coming out. Also it seems that fresh veggies takes way to long for them to dry. I have small cherry tomatoes cut in 1/2= 28hrs, Sweet peppers cut in wheels= 20hrs, scallions=26 hrs. It just don't make any scene of the paperwork that is in with the timing for the fruits and veggies . Paper work is all wrong on the timing. or my unit is another lemon with comparison of all other reviews.
Great for the beef/hamburger jerky. Tried it on some fruits and it just turned out okay. I noticed that everything I have made so far had to be in the dehydrator an additional one hour though. Machine was very quiet and well made.
I do basic dehydrating and haven't ventured into jerky yet but wanted a dehydrator with a fan. After reading numerous reviews for more expensive units I went with my gut and stuck with a brand I trust. I own many other cuisinart products and have never had any complaints. One day I'll try jerky making
This unit works well, but I have purchased another one due to the fact that you cannot easily buy extra trays or tray liners (I use this for items that are too small such as carrots, corn and celery). It is a good basic unit. It functioned well. I did think it was loud.
