Being a tea tottler , every morn I make 2 different kinds for the day. Really love the sleek design , sits on my stove 24/7. Solid handle and great whistle...sooo well made.
We've had this teapot for about 3 weeks; I love it and use it almost daily. I like the design- I think it looks a little oriental. It heats up water in a reasonable, normal amount of time. The whistle is loud enough for me and is convenient to know when the water s ready.
The kettle looks great and works as expected. The handle design allows for easy pouring and looks good - it reflects the curve of the kettle. My only complaints are that the whistle is kind of wimpy, and sometimes steam escapes from the lid when pouring. This can be hot but I have not been burned.
I bought an inexpensive stainless steel kettle for my travel van that arrived dirty and dented. Back it went. So I looked instead for a nicer one that wasn't too expensive. I got lucky with the Peak. It is well styled, well made and sturdy. A touch of class in my metal tent.
I had purchased this teakettle sometime ago and had saved it in my cabinet knowing that I would need it soon. I had forgotten it was there.. purchased a different one/brand, was not pleased with it and returned it. I knew I had one somewhere! Found it and I am so glad!! Just perfect... the water simmers quietly and when the whistle does go off it's loud enough to let you know and yet not too loud that it's annoying. Very happy with this purchase!
Personally I think the handle could use some improvement. It could be shaped a bit more rounded and most importantly - more heat resistant. Sometimes it might be a good idea to have seniors help with the design. Seniors have thinner skin, making hands more sensitive to heat plus arthritic hands which need smoother curves on handle.
This kettle is fine for a strong, smaller hand, and I find the lid a bit of a clever twist to remove. I wouldn't call it ergonomic except for a strong, smaller hand definitely not for a large. It operates very well and has a very good metallic finish on it. It seems as though it'll hold up for a long time. We shall see. I only have a 100-year-old copper kettle to compare it to.
I bought this tea kettle six weeks ago and these are the pros & cons I have experienced. Pros: It's very nice looking and has a low profile and wide bottom which allows it to heat up much faster than my old tea kettle did. Cons: I have followed the care instructions and emptied and dried it after each use but it is already beginning to rust around the rim. It also has a very weak whistle and I can't hear it from another room.
its a teapot... it heats water... it became discolored after a couple of uses. Its noisy when heating up that's about all probably wouldn't recommend this teapot. Cuisinart issued this one after a more expensive one rusted on the inside..... you would have thought they'd upgrade the quality not replace a faulty product with a downgraded teapot...but it does make water hot
I am so disappointed with this teakettle. I spent a lot of time researching before purchasing and regret not believing reviews referring to this kettle rusting. This kettle has a good design and shape and is convenient to use. The big drawback is that it rusts and you are not supposed to leave water in it. Rust even builds up on the lid at the base of the black knob which must be caused by the steam. If this is stainless why is it rusting ? I know this will not be around for 20 years as my old tea kettle was
