I bought this particular tea kettle because of the brand name that I trust, Cuisinart. I have purchased over the years toaster, food processor, etc. I have faith in the quality of the products, and I have not been disappointed. In this disposal society it is nice to still be able to buy, depend, and know that you are getting your money's worth when you buy anything Cuisinart brand. It takes the worry out of the purchase for me. Carmela
I wish I had seen this one when I bought my previous teakettle. It was an enameled kettle and it didn't take long for the surface inside to start deteriorating. The stainless is virtually indestructible. I have other kitchen implements in stainless and they have lasted a very long time. The whistle on this one can actually be heard, so I know when the water is ready. I make tea, both iced tea and an occasional cup of hot tea and it handles a small of large volume of water easily. The trigger for the spout makes it less likely to get scalded. A definite winner!
Unlike Keurig, this company has your back if the product fails with their lifetime warranty. My teakettle is very high quality and hasn't failed on me. I'm very satisfied!
Love this thing. Hadn't had one in ages and lately my wife and I have been drinking a lot of Tea of various quality and after spending the weekend with my sister, ( avid tea drinker) I saw the necessity of getting a quality one. It's a good value.
This teakettle works well and is easy to keep clean. User just needs to be aware that the mechanism to open the spout properly is dependent on 2 small metal posts in the handle. If these come loose, which happened after about one year's use, kettle will need to be replaced. Actually many kettles seem to use this same mechanism.
Solid feeling pot. It would be a great feature if the spring opening could be locked open for pouring. I had to push in both pins that hold the opening lever on, several times so far. Don't want to return it for something so small but it is annoying and could scratch a finger. A drop of super glue would fix it. Seems to be stable now.
Can't open the cap and leave it open. Cap only opens if you're actively holding the button, so no way to boil the water without the whistle going off (anyone at Cuisinart ever have a baby?). Otherwise sufficient.
This is a cute little steel kettle with a real loud whistle, so be prepared to scare your dogs. Good size but a little hard to fill. Only downside is, it gets dirty faster than my enamel-coated one did.
I really like my tea kettle. It's designed to look like a classic tea kettle and function like one too. The only problem I've had with it is that there is a small metal pin in the handle that works it's way loose with regular use. When that happens, I have to bang it back into place. That's a minor problem, you say. And I would agree — if I had a hammer. Sadly, I do not.
I am disappointed. I have had this kettle for only a couple of months, but there are tiny screws that keep popping up on the handle so I have to keep pushing them back in. I will probably have to return it, but haven't had the time yet.
