could not find anything nicer
This is a nice large cargo bag to put on top of an SUV or a van. My Jeep is wide enough to mount it longways versus sideways. The Box contained the straps to attach to the brackets. The fold over to protect the zipper from the weather is really strong with velcro attachments. And I was able to really load it up. The bag has loops on the top so that you can strap the bag easily to your brackets
I haven't used it yet but opened it all the way open good opening to get everything in we need. Looks like there are great staps for hold down we also bought in store extra tie down it has 6 d rings on a ring to put over the whole thing and they latch onto vehicles carge bars so it should be really secure if it is a flop I will come back on around the end of Aug. to report otherwise. If everyone does not hear from me again then everything was wonderful and A.OK Thank you Walmart for having what we were looking for.
This bag pretty much covered the roof of our Honda Odyssey & was about 24" deep. It was much larger then I expected. We had 2 very large suitcases, 1 large, 1 med, 1 small, a bassinet and still lots of room for bags, blankets, shoes, etc. We used this bag for a 3,500 mile trip and had the tie down straps very tight so it only affected our gas mileage about 3 miles to the gallon. It held up very well with no tears or problems except that the little Velcro pieces did not hold the flap over the zipper down. Unfortunately, when you drive, the wind pushes the flap up and water can get in through the zipper which it did for us. Otherwise, we were very pleased with this bag. Next time we plan to try putting a rope or strap around the bag to hold the flap down. (Masking Tape did not work)
This is so huge! It fit more than I ever imagined it would. It did not leak while we were driving in a storm, but did leak some while sitting in the hotel parking lot while raining. All in all I'm glad we got it.
The bag is well made and functional but not well designed. The zipper runs along three sides and the one side without a zipper is one of the long sides - so it opens like a suitcase. That means one of the two short sides with a zipper faces forward. The flap that covers the zipper is only about two or three inches wide and held in place by two small (less than one inch by one inch) squares of velcro. That is nowhere near strong enough to resist the air pressure at highway speed so the flap inevitably folds up, exposing the zipper. I verified this by leaning out the window to look. We went through a rain storm and there was water in the bag afterwards. It wasn't excessive, but the front duffel bag was wet. I put everything in plastic bags after that experience and the bag served its purpose. A shame they didn't make the one side with no zipper or seam the front short side. I would still recommend the product, which is well made and a value for the price, but don't travel without putting everything in plastic. We strapped it to the roof rails on top of our SUV using the provided straps with a cheap rubber mat underneath. Other than the leakage it stayed firmly in place and did its job.
