CURT Cargo Bag, 15 cu ft Waterproof, UV-Resistant Vinyl, Exterior Automotive Accessories

We purchased this Cargo Carrier Bag to use with our carrier for a trip to Florida. With 5 persons in a van for 21 hours we needed the extra space. We were able to put everyone's luggage in the bag and open up the space needed inside the van. We had driven through some torrential rain storms and with the zipper and Velcro closures we were pleased that no moisture had gotten inside the bag. We only wished the straps provided could attach to both the back and front of the carrier. We purchased bungy cords to be better secured. Zippers were tough to open/close until used a couple times.

Used cargo bag in zero temperatures, with road salt. Unit held up great, zippers worked, and later cleaned up easily.

Works well, easy to install and gives you easy access to whatever you have packed in it.

Very happy with the purchase. I read some of the other reviews and decided to piggy back what someone else did which was to buy PVC and create a framework inside. Due to my own lack of studying it, I didn't get enough T's couplings. And it created a lot more work. So, make sure you calculate property first time around. I was uncertain of how this would do with wind pounding it going on the highway with the now more solid backing and flexible PVC (possibly flimsy). Well, that wasn't a problem and we were doing up to 90 at one point, 80 sustained in some areas. I'm glad I checked it after being on the road though 15 min into our drive on the highway because we put the bolt through the wrong hole in the bar that connects to the truck hitch. It was just one off but made the whole thing drop several inches in a short time. I was tipped off by no car staying behind me for more than a few seconds LOL I was like....why is everyone changing lanes rather quickly. So definitely check things out after 10-15 min on the highway. We also went over rocky terrain as well and things held up. It rained, nothing inside was wet. So I think that if anyone complains about this, most likely they just got a defective unit which is bound to happen with all products, but hopefully it's not recurring. And I'm happy I did the interior with PVC as it makes it a perfect square and not floppy. The picture is deceiving which is I think is kind of BS. You don't need to glue them together either. We did have a corner that came lose but was easily fixed with more pressure. I think you probably want the option of taking it down so you can fold it up if necessary. Also, after looking into car tops like Thule, etc., glad I go this as it is easy to get things in and out of rather than on your roof. Clearly, if you got a lot of things or need to get in and out a few times a day, this probably is your better option.

Fits great with Curt Cargo Basket 18152 or 18153 (my model). Cargo Bag protects contents from weather, dirt, road debris, and moisture stirred up by read vehicle wheels. It does the job. Recommend stowing Cargo Bag and straps in tote with lid when not being used - rodent protection. Second bag. First bag chewed up rodents. De-attached garage has problems with mice and squirrels.
