Virtually Indestructible
Purchased for the purpose of breaking up solid clear ice to then be able to shovel driveway. Lighter head makes for easier wielding and sturdy fiberglass handle is ruggedly built; seemingly indestructible.

More versatile than mattock with pick IMO
Had difficulty finding this type of mattock with the other end a cutter instead of a pick. Finding this in the 2.5 pound version and in stock was a challenge. The lighter weight works well for me since the 5 pound version is too fatiguing since I aged. I find the mattock with the cutter end to be more versatile since I rarely use a pick end and have a separate pick if necessary. I prefer the fiberglass handle for comfort and lightness though I wear gloves anyway. Cutter is slightly sharp and mattock not really sharp at all. Typical for this tool. Great for breaking down soil when small bush sized woody roots or difficult soil or stones need removed.

Well designed tool
Nice sized, balanced tool that isn't too heavy. I bought this mattock to remove several stumps of on my property and I'm happy with the purchase.
