This is a great light weight (lighter than guardian bikes) bike for kids to learn on! Pretty easy to put together right out of the box and the price was hard to beat. Our local bike shop sells the exact same bike for double! Lighter bikes are known to be easier for kids to learn to ride. I love that it comes with its own kick stand too!
Lightweight bike for a VERY reasonable price. Shipping was delayed several days, but worth the wait. Purchased an in-store bike from Walmart, but exchanged for this bike due to full brakes, and weight. Tires are skinnier, though. May upgrade in future w/ wider tire, but great bike so far for my 7-year-old to leanr and get riding!
So, full disclosure- I used to work on bikes at as a part of a prior job. It took me about an hour and a half to put this together but I'm very particular, adjusted all the brakes perfectly, the same with the derailler, etc. and I took my time. The box included all the tools I needed (though I did use my own). The bike weighed 20.2%23 when completed (yes, I weighed it… I was curious how accurate the listing was). Overall it appears to be very good quality for the money and only weighed 1.4%23 more than my son's old 18” steel-framed cheaply bmx bike. (Seats, in low position, are the same height exactly, reach to the bars a bit further so the kid will be in a more aggressive true mountain bike position). Time will tell on durability- only gripe- the derailler hanger bracket is plastic. It has a steel cage you install around it to protect it but I suspect that will be the first thing to go. Other than that- it seems to be a very good value. TBD on durability!
Great bike! Bought and build this for my 8 year old (average height and weight) and it's perfect. It's a 'big kids' bike because it has shifters, which are easy for her to roll. She loves the color, and we love how lightweight it is so that she can power up and down hills. It took me about an hour to put it together, and I could do it in 30 minutes again as I got stopped up on 1 part (attaching the brakes after putting the front wheel on was REALLY hard). Overall I'm really happy with it,and my daughter is too.
Really great kids aluminum bike for $150. Everything else in this price range is steel and no where near this light. This has real proper bike geometry and threadless headset/tapered fork (it's actually a real bike not a toy that looks like a bike). Brakes and derailleur are fantastic quality for a 6-8 year old. You would need to step up to a $500 bike to get disc brakes and better shifter which isn't really worth it for a 6-8 year old. This bike is an absolute blast for value at $150
My son has been loving this bike! very lightweight frame. shifters are smooth. was easy to put together and everything is sturdy %26 quality made.
excellent bike for my 8 year old daughter. it's her first "big girl" bike without training wheels.
Admittedly, I'm not a "bike person." So, I don't think it's magic like the ad wants you to believe, but it's a good bike. I wish there were more color options, and sizes, on Walmart.com. Ultimately, my child needed the next size up, and wanted a different color, so we went with a different bike.
Great bike for the price, bought in sale under $100. It has too many gears and the brakes and gears need adjusting, which adds another $100 at bike repair shop. I wish they make instruction videos on how to adjust stuff so that people can do themselves instead of spending another $100 at bike shop.
Pretty good bike, light weight. There was a missing stem bolt, but I contacted the company and they were kind an d send a new one within a week
