We love this D'Addario Eclipse tuner! It's easy and gentle to clip on. Very easy to use, and easy to read as well even in low-light areas. It came with a battery too! It uses a CR2032 button-style battery when the time comes to replace it. It has a nice colored and easy to read display, and is very no-frills. It is chromatic and calibrates from 435 to 450Hz, works with both our electric and acoustic guitar. It's actually very accurate, and works quickly too. It makes it easy to know when the guitar is in tune. It shows lights that guide you to the correct tuning and shows the note for the string you're tuning. It seems to be made well and it's a good brand name as well. It's reasonably priced and works just as well as the more expensive brands we've had in the past. It will work on all stringed instruments and comes in other colors too. One other nice feature is that after attaching it to the headstock, you can swivel it in many directions so you can view it easily. We really like this, and it's also a nice gift idea if you know someone who plays a stringed instrument. A few of us, including me, in the family play guitar and we all really like it!
Oh my goodness I never knew such an amazing little device was available to tune my guitar! I love this little D' Addario Eclipse Headstock Tuner, it is simply amazing, it just attaches to the headstock of the guitar, you click the little button on and it's all digital. Easiest thing to do, stroke the guitar string and it automatically brings up what note you are playing in, it is all automatic Lee done for you. This is so awesome plus I think every music class should have one available for every student! Also it fully swivels so even left handers can use it too.
This tuner has a decent sized, and easy to read, display. It's extremely easy to use and clip to your guitar headstock. It's more precise than some of the cheaper units I've used in the past. One nice feature is that it's adjustable from 430hz to 450hz in increments of 1hz. Great unit. Highly recommend.
The D'Addario Eclipse Headstock Tuner comes in a bubble package ready to use. Just remove the protective cover over the screen, remove the battery insulator strip, clamp the tuner to the headstock, hit the power button and you are ready to tune. It is frequency adjustable and it turns itself off after a short time to save battery power. And the tuner display rotates to any angle so that you can see it clearly while you work. As you tune each string, the lighted display shows how close you are to being there, with bars and arrows around the note to show you have it exactly where it needs to be. It is even easy to use for an occasional player such as myself. I think I will be using this tuner for a long time to come!
The Cool Waves D'Addario Eclipse Tuner is the best tuner I ever seen. The color display is very bright, easy to read and allows for easy calibration. The display itself is surrounded by a red rubber edging, similar to a rubber cell phone cover. It is attached to a heavy duty plastic clip by a "hinge". Where the display attaches to the "hinge", it can rotate 360 degrees. Where the hinge is attached to the clip, it can also turn rotate 360 degrees. The hinge itself can be opened almost 180 degrees. So you can basically move the display into any angle you wish. The attachment clip is very sturdy, easy to grip, and has a rubber cushion its ends to keep it from scratching your instrument. The only negative I have is, that although it has basic instructions, it does not come with detailed instructions, or a link where someone could find detailed instructions, for beginners or those not familiar with the usage of electronic tuners. Overall, The Cool Waves D'Addario Eclipse Tuner is the best tuner I have owned. Bright display, very sturdy, easy to use, with limitless viewing angles. If you have a stringed instrument, I highly recommend this tuner!
Took a little while to figure it out but I'm an extremely new “beginner” so there was just a learning curve for me. I just looked up some videos on the internet to help me. I like this way better than using an app. It swivels so you can angle it how you want. Great for either left or right handed. Clear display. Accurate. Great quality product, not flimsy at all. Highly Recommend. Don't forget if it doesn't power on, it may have that little plastic strip they put with the battery that you need to remove.
When I got this little device I figured it would be something better than nothing, but as fast as I got it out of the little box and clipped onto my electric guitar I saw it was one of the smartest and easiest to use tuners. I was so impressed I made a very short video showing the tuner so everybody can see its value. Find my video demo/review on YouTube; D'Addario Eclipse Headstock Tuner Review
Although I can't carry a tune in a bucket, my 11yo daughter is pretty good with a guitar, and when she's singing along, is actually quite melodic. She's the musician in the family, so I got her the Eclipse Tuner to make sure everything stays on key. She claims the tuner is easy to use, and helps keep both acoustic and electric guitars tuned and 'concert-ready'.
will have to say it is just OK although it did not seem to work for me I let some friends of mine use it and they have the same result sorry Followed the directions on the Box and at best Just OK for me but you be the judge try it you might get different results from me and my friends thank you for reading my review
D'Addario Eclipse Headstock Tuner has both good and bad features. Pros: this tuner is small with adjustable angles making it easily visible from either the front side or the back side of the headstock. Folds flat so it can be attached while in the case. It's easy to use. It features a tuner calibration option. Cons: the display light isn't very visible in a bright light setting such as daylight. When compared to a guitar tuner app, it does not tune as accurately. It is more difficult to tune when there is background noise such as other instruments, music playing, etc. Overall, I would recommend this product to a beginner who doesn't have high expectations or needs from a tuner but for someone playing in a band or around other loud background noise, this may not be the right product for you.
