When I opened the can, the plaster was white compared to the one I bought months ago. It seems to do a great job for cracks in wall and seems to blend into the tannish color. If I could, I would rather have nice brick on my walls because plaster is cheap and weak, especially in this apartment! I will do another coat tomorrow morning. I recommend this for apartment touch ups before moving so Landlord will NOT charge you for small things like you see on TV Court shows.
Have been using this product for 40 years. In Ft. Laud. we used it mainly for stucco and concrete repairs. It lasted over 20 yrs on some of the jobs. Use it here in Jacksonville for wood repair. Big holes small holes cracks-makes no difference. Use membrane if crack or hole is too big.
For those people who failed English, it may prove a bit too daunting to follow instructions. The first review gave only 4 stars, BUT the product clearly states on the jar, NOT SANDABLE! Don't ping a review because you don't take time to read a label. I have drywall cracks that are a nuisance, this should prove very helpful.
Used this for many hairline cracks in old plaster wall and some cracks up to 1/8th of an inch - in cases where the plaster is still attached to the lath (meaning it does not move in when you push the wall). The product works very well for these kinds of cracks. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully. It has 10 minutes of tooling time, and it gets hard to work after 10 minutes. Just use small batches. There’s a good This Old House video on plaster crack repair that shows well how to use this stuff. A tip: the textured version is just a little easier to work with than the smooth, so if you find you are not a trowel artist, you might start with that.
I have used product twice works wonderfully!! I patched my pool decking spots in ARizona where cracked and areas pulled away.My spots were fairly deep and product hardened up nicely to walk over. 2 years later holding nicely yet. My second time i used to repair a corner of foundation by my garage that had a lot of cracks and chunks of concrete missing. I have tried many products over the years for this area and is the only one that has held up! Thank you DAP!
Had to replace the siding on my dormers because the bottom of the boards started rotting because rain splashes off the roof and wets the bottom of the boards...a regular coat of paint was not enough. I coated the bottom of each board with DAP ElastoPatch (previously Custom Building Products Elastomeric Custom Patch). Then I put a good coat of paint over the ElastoPatch. After several years the boards are showing no signs of swelling/rotting because the water cannot get thru the ElastoPatch & Paint.
Has performed well over many years on several houses ,applied by different people . The option to use when not wanting to replaster .
It's easy to use filling I cracks on stucco.
Used it to fill some hairline cracks in my condo walls from foundation movement. I'm far from a professional and Its amazing how it fills so precisely its almost magical!! Easily smooths over with puffy knife after application. Very easy to use and results have been spectacular especially after painting. One warning is make sure to have PLENTY of fresh air flow into your house when using. Its odorless but trust me its strong stuff I got minor headaches right after using it first two times in a row (even with a window open) and I never get headaches. Used it for third time tonight but with both windows AND front door open and no headache. Just get enough fresh air and its a fantastic product.
Bought this to fill in a crack. Put on a couple coats. Painted and now have a ridge which is more noticeable than the crack! So disappointed and not sure how to fix this now
