It actually works. It does everything it claims to do. But make sure you keep reapplying it on your braids, cornrows etc from time to time before taking down your hair. Apply on your hair at the point of making it, then reapply while wearing your style, and during take down. I did mine this way, and it worked better than the instructions given.

This stuff works great. Made the detangling process so much faster and easier. I had my mini braids in for 4 months and it melted the buildup away so easily. This is one product I would stock up on.

I really love this product. Taking my braids out with this product made it super easy. No tangles or anything. I definitely will be purchasing again.

It leaves your hair so soft and smells amazing . I love how a little goes a long way. My hair is always in braids. Ive tried so many detangling products even conditioner and none works as much as the Dark & Lovely Protective Styles Detangling Cream .

This helped so much with the tangling of the dirt and debris you usually get when you have a protective style. I also liked that it had a nice menthol smell to it. It also gave my head a cooling sensation. I'll for sure be purchasing the other products in the line.

I also tried it out on a family member you has super kinky hair too and has had a productive style in for 3 month and it worked great for them! I would definitely consider purchasing it!

I applied a generous amount as instructed but It did not help with detangling. I tried to add more. I get the same results when I take down and finger detangle with no product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't like this detangler for my hair. Not that much different from any other detangler creams already on the shelf. I Personally don't like it in my hair but I might use it to style some wigs for my clients.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately by the time I got the product, I had already taken my hair down. HOWEVER there are a few bones that I have to pick. FIRSTLY: Avocado and Peppermint are the selling points of the product. They're listed on the front of the bottle and are in in the photo I'm looking at as I type this however they are so far down on the ingredient list that it may as well not be there. SECONDLY: The product does have a LOT of silicones which doesn't bother me in particular, but if that's something you don't like in your products this isn't the one for you. LASTLY: The smell is questionable. It smells off to me. Like maybe it wasn't any good but that could've just been its natural scent. I could faintly smell the peppermint struggling to break through but with all the silicone in it it smells about as plasticky. Running the product the product on my fingers it feels like there would be a good slip which is once again because of all the silicates but I'm not sure if I would trust putting this product in my hair.
