This merino wool sock is soft and warm (nice) in a steel toe work boot it provides a little extra cushion for the pounding work boots can put on your feet.I also put it in with a tennis shoe and took the dog for a speed walk,still my feet were dry and odor free. And the band stayed right where I put it. No slipping down. It washes well in warm water and dryer with no shrinking. I get you may think the price is too much but trust me its WORTH EVERY PENNY, or you can pinch that penny and take it home by way of your tired,wet,stinking feet. Your choice

I'm a sockaholic and love merino wool socks.These are absolutely the best I've tried. Must own 8 pairs of the Darn Tough Sock brand of different varieties. If you do not love these socks you are obviously from a different planet where they don't wear socks, period.

These are by far the most comfortable socks for backpacking that I have used. They hold up great and very well made. I have used them in cold climates to keep warm and I have hiked in hot climates and the keep my feet cool and dry. The only brand that I use.

At first I thought the sock would be too bulky but contrary to first belief it was very comfortable with nice wicking abilities. I wear very rigid shoes and these socks put a very nice softer feel into them. Only thing is that its not as stretchy as some lighter weight socks. Its a very warm sock to soo plan accordingly.
