The Dash Everyday Ice Cream Maker is the perfect size for my husband & I. We want something sweet after supper & this makes the perfect amount so that it doesn't sit in the freezer & get freezer burn. I can't wait to try other flavors other than vanilla bean.
This is such an awesome ice cream freezer, compact enough to fit in my refrigerator-freezer. Ice cream freezes in less than 30 minutes. It only makes 1 1/2 quarts of ice cream, but we like trying new flavors. We use it at least once a week, I am sure we will use it more during the Summer. I even got my daughter one.
Makes just the right amount of ice cream. Popsicle maker is great for making a cool treat from just juices. DId find that I had to put the frozen ice cream back into the freezer overnight to get it hard. Otherwise it was more like a soft serve ice cream. Noticed that there was some sort of crystalization around the edge of the container after I cleaned it and let it dry.
Small batches - followed directions- left bucket in for 2 days and once I mixed up ice cream i refrigerated for 4 hours then churned one hour and still a bit soft. Froze 2 hours turned out good but sure took a lot longer to make for such a small batch. Definitely less messy though.
Dash producteur are great! I own several of them. There ice-cream makers are among them. BUT they have 1 weakness: the plastic gears in there motor. Their teeth tend to wear off if the ice-cream thickens sooner than expected, while the spatula is still spinning.
Doesn't freeze every time. Great when it works
Way smaller then expected that's on me thought and it don't hold much doesn't get very cold and you have to keep in the freezer for hours after you make it just to get it to set up to not be mush. Not like grandma used to make it for sure very disappointed and you definitely want to read the instructions before because you need to have the main bowl in the freezer 24 hours ahead of time prior to start making the ice cream too. On the plus side the pop slices trays and recipes were nice with prep.
I'm not pleased with it. We tried to make popsicles.. as directed, but they would not come out without breaking. We tried several times.
It was awful, arrived promptly, noticed the packing box was saturated with an oily substance. Opened the packing box and EVERYTHING inside was covered with the same unknown oil. This included the inside & outside of the box, inside the clear plastic wrapper over the container and the ice cream maker was completely covered inside and out with this substance. Returned to the store promptly.
Thought I'd try an electric ice cream maker. Peaches are in season...sounded quite yummy. Unfortunately, the first box I purchased had some type of white debris in the box so I exchanged the item. Followed the directions with a newly exchanged maker and it did not make ice cream...it was cold soup. Decided to give it one more chance, just in case the second one had some kind of defect. We'll see if the third one is the charm.
