Dash Southwest Chipotle Seasoning Blend, Salt Free, 2.5 oz

about 8 months ago I learned that I would have to start cooking/ making the 3 meals a day for someone who was put on a cardiac diet. According to the hospital, no more than 2000 MGS of sodium per day. He developed CHF so a very limited amount of salt to prevent edema and sodium causes fluid retention. I had to rethink everything I was cooking to spare him the 911 trips to the ER because he couldn't breathe from fluid in the lungs. It wasn't as difficult to do as I thought. The first thing I purchased were DASH various spices. This one, chipotle, was great on burgers and absolutely no sodium except the little bit that was baked into the bun. Some of the other DASH seasonings were good but since there could be some sodium in or added to his food, I added the lowered sodium salt. We all need some salt in our diets. it's part of the body's electrolytes that are necessary for the heart. Check with your Doctor first. You'll need to know how much sodium you're serving your "patient". I was this person's full time caregiver and I kept an accurate amount of sodium in his food. This chipotle from DASH seasonings was frequently used. Hot %26 Spicy. I was quite impressed with the amount of sodium free products Walmart has for sale. Not always available in-store but hey, take a look.

Great with Pork Rib pieces. Let the pork ribs come to room temperature, spray a LITTLE olive oil on the pork ribs, followed by a good amount of the chipotle seasoning. if you are avoiding salt bypass the next step which is add a SPRINKLE of salt over the pork ribs. Finally cook the pork ribs in the oven on low heat (300 degrees) until the meat reaches 190degrees.

this is a really great spice. its quite spicy so you dont have to add much to get that zip for chili etc i do suggest that you go carefully when adding it to your dishes as its quite spicey! and the fact it has no salt is great too.

When I was trying to cut back on salt, I tried Various no salt spicing, this was the best one. For someone who likes spicy I think you will find the spicy enough. For someone like me, who likes spicy but mild, so just a couple of specs of this does the trick for me. I definitely recommend.

Try this if you need to lightly spice things up. I am a wimp when it comes to something hot (Habanero jelly destroyed my liking spicy things) Haha. You don't need a lot of this use a bit till you know how much you want/need. Out this on almost anything. This and salt is what I would want with me on a deserted island!! You can't go wrong!!

When i tries this flavor i didn't know what to expect but the flavor isn't over powering, its not salty and you done need a lot of it. Sprinkle, on steak, hamburger and or ribs.

First it is no salt, hard to find when getting a spicy blend. This is so good that I doubt if this bottle will last a month. Not only does it add a good kick to regular dishes but when cooking in something to be simmered, (rice, some vege's or even pasta) the flavor is not lost. For those who use hot sauce, this will be mild so combine with your sauce. For someone just starting, give it a try.

l was kinda of wondering if this was going to work for in my kitchen . Okey, well tbis little container really packs a punch in flavor. A little bit goes along way too. So , if you are heavy handed with your seasoning, please don't. If you do, it wasn't the seasoning the issue your meal got messed up. I highly recommend this product for purchase.

I love this seasoning and use it on everything fish, chicken, pork, beef, Pizza, soups, beans, and casseroles.

I give the Dash Southwest Chipotle Seasoning Blend 4 stars. I didn't try any other brand to compare it to, but I really like this one. I use it all the time, mostly on my homemade chicken chipotle bowls, and it adds great flavor without being overpowering. I also appreciate that it's salt-free, which makes it easy to control the seasoning. Overall, it's become a regular staple in my kitchen and I'm happy with it.
