This brand is owned by Wonder Bread. Which irks me because they know how unhealthy white bread is but they still push it which perpetuates one of the worst dietary habits Americans have. We need the fiber of whole grains and the protein content is higher. Some frozen "protein" waffles are just whole wheat! I use these buns for burgers and sandwiches when I can't find the 'Cheese*** Fact*ry' brown buns which is now the only competitor since that absurd 'brioche' fad has displaced so many whole grain baked goods on the shelves. Brioche is bleached with extra butter and sugar. Walmart has dropped their whole wheat burger buns which cost 1/3rd as much as Dave's.
These are delicious. I buy Dave killer bread regular. I've never have tried the buns so I thought now is the time. They made a great hamburger, but I was hungry in the middle of the night and grabbed one of those buns and oh my goodness, they are better than any roll I have eaten since I made homemade yeast rolls . I'm buying these for the holiday dinners. They're attractive they look like a roll. Oven Warm and put in a cloth lined basket, there's your holiday bread. I'm buying 6 to put in freezer for thanksgiving dinner. It's now close to Halloween. Just make sure you get as much air out then seal tight no problem freezing.
Walmart was out of the multigrain Dave's hamburger buns. I have never tried these buns. I have had the multigrain variety which is high fiber. The white buns have a little less fiber, hopefully they will taste good. Dave's cost a little more but are worth the price. Dave's are always fresh and last at least a week if not more. I highly recommend them.
"I am absolutely thrilled with these Dave's Killer Bread 'Burger Buns Done Right'! As a vegan, finding a hearty, delicious, and certified organic bun that actually holds up to a juicy plant-based foods has been a challenge—until now. These buns are perfectly soft with just the right amount of chewiness and a subtle sweetness that truly elevates any burger experience. They are by far the best vegan buns on the market and a staple for all my needs. Highly recommended for anyone seeking quality, flavor, and an animal-product-free bun!"
So this was my final selection when I ordered this because I had selected the sliced bread. I saw the buns and read label. I already knew I would use it to make burgers for I and neighbor because I hadn't eaten red meat in awhile and was craving a homemade burger. I toasted the buns in oven and made burgers. Incredible. My neighbor who only eats enriched bread coiuldn't believe what she'd been missing. Now she's a "Mikey" for this seeded bread. She now only want burgers or sandwiches with these buns. I guess I'll be cooking.
Daves Killer bread is always a good choice, and these hamburger buns are no different. They are not the cheap fluffy buns that smash I once you have a hamburger in them, and they are not the tough buns with a hard top either. They are both substantial and delicious, and worth the extra money.
We've been buying these for a while now and they've pretty much become our go-to hamburger buns. The quality is always good, they taste great, and compared to a lot of bread options in big box stores, the ingredients feel like a better choice. Unfortunately, there just aren't a ton of more natural bread options available at most stores, so this brand has kind of become our staple. Only real downside is the price — definitely a bit expensive for bread. But for us, the quality makes it worth it.
i but a package every wk...think i like these hamburger buns? i believe they r priced fairly considering the ingredients. dans is one of my goto products. a pleasant alternative to sandwich slices. these are certainly healthier than the rest of hb buns on the shelf.
I have tried both this variety and the seeded one. We were not happy with either. They are pricey for being ok at best. I find that for us, they had an unpleasant "mouth feel" ( wet? too starchy ?or doughy, not sure what to call it not under baked, just an unpleasant mouth feel). I would not recommend them.
They say they're organic but they don't say they have herbicides in the buns/bread. Florida Dept of Health tested two of the breads made by Dave's and they were positive for glyphosate. This is a pesticide contaminate according to the Healthy Florida First website.
