used to get the Dave's green pack but it started tasting stale and dried out. I switch to the red pack, and its great! soft, flavorful ,nutty. not to sweet or salty like some breads . comes in standard size pieces and oversized loaves like sandwiches you would buy at a sandwich shop or restaurant but really healthy! a bit pricey but have to have it in my kitchen. If I'm cravimg a bit of cake or doughnut, I put canned frosting like chocolate cream cheese on a piece of this bread fold and have with tea, coffee, or almond milk. My funny cheat food . it tastes good to me. and has fiber minerals omega's. and protein . yummy with sprouts and avocado and alittle turkey bacon.
When trying to eat healthier, this for me is a better option to try and love as much as their breads. Doesn't taste healthy which is why I also love this option and I hope they keep it around. It's just right chew and flavor wise where it isn't too soft but not so hard as to crack teeth and give you a workout while eating. No aftertaste or weird flav profile and goes well with all the traditional savory goods, just a better option and not as processed as some.
I used to eat bagels and other kinds of Roman meal and wheat bread and very expensive bakery bread I started eating this stuff and this is even better it's sweetened with fruit juice I can share it with my diabetic girlfriend and it's good with toast with eggs with hummus cream cheese and salmon and all kinds of other spreads and it's also good with just peanut butter or just butter
I cannot believe how good this bread is. When I found out how it's diabetic and had to cut back carbs I knew I'd be missing bread. this is the best spread on the market if you are diabetic very low in carbs high in fiber no salts just whole grain and wheat
Dave's Killer Bread w/the Red label is my favorite store-bought bread. It is so much better tasting and nutritious, than the typical "dead bread" that most of us eat. Thanks for the avocado hint AI. It would taste great slathered with ripe CALIFORNIA AVOCADOS. 'Fuerte' should be ripe soon; 'Hass' in May.
I don't usually write reviews like this but lately I have had some concerns about the food at Walmart Neighborhood Market in Vallejo, CA. A few weeks ago, I was given a pack of Foster Farms Fresh Chicken Strips that was expired by a day. Yesterday, several items were missing from my order so I returned to pick them up and this morning when I opened the bread (that I picked up yesterday) there was mold in the entire loaf. I have really enjoyed using the Walmart online order and pickup option but lately, I feel like I need to do my own shopping again. What a bummer!
I bought a powerseed loaf yesterday, I was so happy and excited because it actually tasted amazing and the ingredients are fantastic, however it went moldy like disgusting green mold within a day! I still cant believe that I had to throw it all out within a day. Also I looked all over the packaging to see if it had a production date but it didnt. Did anyone else have a similar experience? Was I supposed to freeze it?
My bread is expired.. it expired on May 31 and it's dry. I didn't know it until after I ate half the sandwich and I thought it didn't taste right and it was real dry and I looked at the date and it was expired. It's a six dollar and some odd cents loaf of bread so either I'd like to get my money back or it sent a new one… Thank you I spent a lot of money there
I would have probably liked this bread, but the fact that it came without being sealed inside an inner wrapper and just left for anyone to tamper with it turned me completely off. I will never eat anything so open to tampering, plus "shelf stable", which I somehow missed in the description tells me for a supposedly healthy, organic bread, it's loaded with preservatives. I will never waste money on a Dave's bread product again.
I would recommend, the problem was that 1 was going expire in a day and other 2 expired on the 1st of April. That means whomever packed my order did not pay attention to expiration date.
