This is THE BEST RAISIN BREAD IVE EVER TASTED!! PLEASE, do yourself a favor. Ignore the price and purchase this bread. Then go to the dairy case and buy some UNSALTED BUTTER - NOT MARGARINE!! Then go home. Let a stick of the. Butter sit out till it softens . You know you can leave butter on the counter %26 it won't kill you. Then smear some of that butter on a piece of that RAISIN BREAD . YOU WILL BE EXPERIENCING EXCELLENCE IN YOUR MOJTH. I promise……..
My favorite store bought bread. My granddaughter approves as well! Full of raisins and clean ingredients. Nice size slices. Appealing taste!
We have the MTHFR mutation. We can not have folic acid or a ton of preservatives. This bread has been great. Best way to heat is in a pan with butter and we use it for French toast. Wish it was a bit more reasonable in price. I'm feeding 3 growing boys and a teen girl!
Skeptical but Won Over by Dave's Killer Raisin Bread Okay, I'll be honest. I picked up this loaf of Dave's Killer Bread, the Raisin' The Roof kind, mostly because my usual brand was out. I needed something for my morning toast that wasn't just empty carbs, but I was a little wary. The name is fun, but would it actually taste good and hold up? First, the bread itself is dense in a good way. You can tell it's packed with whole grains, seeds, and plenty of raisins. It doesn't have that weird, gummy texture some healthy breads get. When you toast it, it gets perfectly crispy on the outside but stays pleasantly chewy inside. The cinnamon flavor is there, but it's subtle—it doesn't overpower the nutty taste of the grains, which I really appreciate. My one note is about the slices. They are quite small and pretty dense. If you're used to big, fluffy slices of white raisin bread, this will be different. Two slices make a solid piece of toast, and one is enough for a decent sandwich. It's filling, which is a plus. I'm hoping the whole grain and seed mix means it stays fresh for a while. I keep mine in the fridge just to be safe. For anyone on the fence wondering if "healthy" bread can also be tasty and satisfying for breakfast, I'd say give this a try. It converted me, and now it's my regular buy. It's a solid, hearty bread that makes you feel like you started the day right.
was very happy to finally get the BREAD!!!!! 4 times i have ordered the BREAD %26 received the bagels!!! i don't eat the bagels they are in my freezer!!!! kept on ordered the BREAD %26 got those bagels. BUT this time i did get the BREAD %26 now i am happy...thank you!!
I love raisin bread and this is the best tasting one I have purchased. It looks strange at first glance as the raisins used are golden. I believe a slice is about 100 calories but it is a thicker slice. Yes it is expensive, but less so when it is on sale. It does keep you full. That makes it worth it.
This is not like other raisin bread!! It's the best tasting killer Dave's bread too. It's also better than their bagels. I toast it and add goat cheese and walnuts on top. My daughter uses cream cheese. Also good with sliced bananas. It's hearty and filling. It's not a dessert bread.
OMG it really IS "killer"! SO good! Lots of raisins in a rich, multigrain, substantial loaf. None of that namby-pamby, flimsy stuff, this is the bread we would make for a blue ribbon at the county fair! (Hint: I didn't stop at two hot, buttery slices when I got home from the grocery store.)
I have ordered this bread on several occasions of late. The reason for this is the Exekial Raisin bread being out of stock for about 10 days. The Ezekiel brand is is much better in every way. The days product appears to be less expensive but not. It isn't the less expensive because it has fewer slices of bread and poorer quality ingredients. The Dave's product is barely OK for the situation that we're in in my area.
I love Mikes bread. But... This loaf was a second. It was small. misshapen at one end. Quite stiff and heavy. Possibly out of date. For the smallness of the loaf, the slices were thick. It is not useable as is, but toasting slices restore some freshness. Sigh, silly me to expect a better item, when not able to select it in person. I will freeze it. And for the high price, make usr of it. Beware.
