Dave's Killer Bread "Sprouted" is my go to for morning toast with my tea. It is delicious with butter or a fruited goats cheese. It has a great texture and never falls apart when putting toppings on. The slices are thin and smaller in size than normal bread which for me is a plus. Absolutely perfect for breakfast!
I had never had this type of bread before. I wasn't sure what to expect. I am used to the cheaper bread that sticks in your teeth. This was a quality, sturdy bread that held up to my overzelous amount of chicken salad that I piled on. Crossing my fingers this will help with gut health. It was highly recommended by a nutritionalist.
I have just started to buy various kinds of Killer Daves products. Read the ingredients for this bread. I have tried grilled cheese and toasted abd also with sandwiches. Its excellent better than other bread available in the bread aisle. If you want to eat healthy this bread is an added benefit for everyone 😋😋
I absolutely love this bread as I am on a stick diet for health reasons and this bread is a great option for me I can eat this and not feel bad about eating bread again plus I like I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is health conscious and cares about what they put in their body
Read the ingredients and compare to white and so called wheat breads. No high fructose corn syrup, all organic,no artificial ingredients or preservatives. Don't like the texture? Microwave 5 seconds. Expeller pressed canola oil from canola seeds omits chemical hexane. Hexane is a known neurotoxin. Hexane may be responsible for: peripheral neuropathy, respiratory irritation, suspected infertility damage. The EPA has listed it as as air pollutant. Bottom line-anything you put in your body nearly everyday deserves spending a little more money. We tend to feed our vehicles better than our bodies.
Dave's Killer sprouted is great for our home. My husband has diabetes and it was suggested that he use sprouted bed for assistance in controlling his blood sugar when he wants bread. We have used Dave's for years. The taste is wonderful. The slices are the perfect size for portion control. Good texture and toasts well, even from frozen. A good value at Walmart when compared to other grocery stores.
The bread makes a wonderful quick toast on the go since it is light and soft slightly sweet, yet while being whole grain. Only problem I have with it, is the annoyingly hard, whole wheat berry kernels and millet bits -- I have to spit them out, too hard to chew, gets stuck in teeth, who wants that causing problems in the gut? I wish these bread companies doing the whole grain hard sell, understood that especially seniors with diverticulosis still want the health benefit of whole grain, but need those whole grains GROUND. Do they think we won't be convinced it's really whole grain unless it feels like we are chewing on gravel? Anyway, it could be a perfect bread consistency and taste wise, if it wasn't for the added hard bits.
to tell you the truth I really haven't got to eat this yet cuz I still had some Ezekiel bread but they were out of bed I like to sprout bread so I thought I tried the day if you don't it looks all right and I needed some bread so I'm sure it's okay so I put a Ford I put a four on the test cuz I got everything I'm sure the texture and everything's the same as Ezekiel bread I would think
I agree with other reviewer, this is NOT sprouted bread...FALSE ADVERTISING. Food for Life 7 Grain Sprouted Bread is a much better product and there isn't any sugar or canola oil. Price on Dave's is $5.47, 20.5 OZ loaf, 26.7 cents per OZ...Price on Food for Life is $7.53, 24 OZ loaf, 31.4 cents per loaf. For me, the difference is worth it for a much healthier bread.
This bread is hard and stale! I am returning it. Almost all of Dave's bread is stale when received but not quite this stale... At almost $6 a loaf Dave should be ashamed of himself as the bread used to be pretty good... I guess the huge profit he is making went to his head. Unfortunately, Walmart carries no decent bread as a substitute... Walmart shoulf discontinue Dave's bread and let him learn through his pocketbook!
