Dave's Killer White Bread has been a staple in our house for a while now. Good taste, softer texture, and feels like a better option ingredient-wise than a lot of standard white breads. It's definitely a bit pricier than normal bread, but finding cleaner ingredient options in big box stores can be tough, so we keep coming back to it.
Literally my second favorite bread of all time. I live a fat-minimal lifestyle, at least a vast majority of the time, and the Dave's Power Seed is my favorite. Many friends whom I entertain, or with whom I share bread on group occasions, really like the statistics on Power Seed, but prefer a healthy white bread instead of the darker, richer power seed. (I sometimes think of them as the " tomato sandwich crowd," as I used to love to use white bread for that particular application.) I have started sharing this bread with those folks, and many have adopted it outright because of the health benefits, as well as the overall "whiteness." Suffice it to say many converts have emerged from my humble efforts ... hence it is purchase number two when it comes to my overall bread purchases. (. and, as an aside, It's somewhat easy, in my opinion, to adapt to a tomato sandwich constructed of healthy bread, with plain, no-fat yogurt starring as "Mayo" ...)
This is the best bread I've ever had. I've had Bakery bread didn't like it that much I've had Arnold's and all of the major brands and none of them tasted as good as this one does. The small loaf is 70 calories per slice and the larger roof is Big more but not much more but they both taste delicious they both toast well and they both have the same flavors.
Dave's killer bread may be on the more expensive side of breads, but when you need that slice of white bread and don't want all the mumbo-jumbo in it then it's worth that little bit of extra money you have to spend on it. The bread is soft and has just a little bit of sweetness to it. It works well in a toaster and whether you're eating a sandwich with cold cuts on it or a hot sandwich, it ticks off all the boxes. It's the only bread I buy now when buying white bread.
Thd only problem is the crust is hard evdn when just purchased. However the bread was still firm and not soggy when used for egg salad sandwiches in lunchbox
Tasted okay, but the bread was dry. I don't know if it was stale or is just dry by nature, but bread would break up while trying to eat a sandwich. Color was more like a wheat bread than a white bread, but it taste as bad as whole wheat does. I do not think it was worth paying double the price of some of the other brands for this
I buy this bread a lot, because it's a high quality bread and it tastes great. But... walmart keeps selling them stale. So I'm paying full price for bread that's dry and falls apart when you touch it. I know what stale store bread is like. And this is exactly stale. You can just crumble it into breadcrumbs with your hands and none of it sticks together. It only seems to happen with pickup orders, too. That's not ok.
After reading some of the reviews on here, I was literally EXCITED to try this bread. It must be stale and it's NOT WHITE. It's brownish with the feel of rye bread! So many reviews talked about the softness??? I can't really afford bread this expensive but I REALLY wanted this. I figured the worse case scenario, it wouldn't be as AMAZING as I hoped but I'd have bread... but no, I'm not just disappointed with it, I can't even eat it.
this bread is stale arrived with no expiration date on the package and just a twist white tie on the bread. do not buy there selling expired bread and cant get a refund saying drive 20 mins to return the bread to the store. not going to buying soon from this store anymore losing my business shady business practices. This is not cheap bread! totally disgusted.
disgusting texture like it was stale. it wasnt white bread like it states. it just crumbled. made a fried bologna and cheese sandwich and took one bite and spit it out. i fed the whole loaf to my chickens.
