A dish soap that gets the job done

karen58 March 9, 2026

First of all the scent is lovely. The apple blossom smell is light fresh without being overpowering, which I appreciate because I'm sending it to sink long enough as it is it just makes the whole kitchen smell a little nicer while I'm washing up. When I really like is how well it cuts through grease a small squirt goes a long way even with pots and pans that have been sitting a bit the suds last and I don't feel like I'm constantly adding more soap to the sponge. I also liked the antibacterial. It gives me a little extra peace in mind, though and dishes are getting a good clean, especially after cooking meat or messy meals. All in all is dependable, smell smells nice and worked hard without needing much at this point in my life I appreciate products that simply do what they're supposed to do and this one certainly does. If you want to dish soap that's effective and pleasant to use this one's worth keeping by the sink.

Cleans well

ElenaO May 14, 2026

I really like the green apple 🍏 fragrance the dish soap 🧼 has. The dish soap is gentle on your hands. But also a great grease cleanser. It's one of my favorite cleaner.

The BEST Dishwashing Liquid

KristinO May 20, 2026

This product is hands-down the best dishwashing liquid on the market. It removes stains most effectively and thoroughly cleans all dishes. The scent is great also!

It's good

trang136 April 12, 2026

I used this Dawn Ultra Antibacterial hand soap dishwashing lit, apple blossom to clean my dishes and cookware even items caked with stubborn grease and it works incredibly well, leaving everything sparkling and spotless. The formula produces plenty of suds, and its apple scent quickly cuts through even the toughest grease.

Good cleaning soap

nicholep60 February 10, 2026

I love using dawn soap on not just my dishes but on clothes to remove stains. It works great. This flavor in particular is not my favorite scent but it still gets the job done and it's affordable.

Label still confusing in 2023

NoreenBean February 23, 2023

It is 2023 and your label for the apple scent is still very confusing. Is it dishwashing liquid?? Or is it hand washing liquid? It's still says it's hand washing liquid on the back as well as the front.

Seriously misleading label

Lori456 July 15, 2023

I have purchased Dawn dishwashing liquid in the past, and had intended to get a bottle today (my husband always beats me to it, and he buys something else). So I go to grab a bottle of the apple scent, and catch the same error on the bottle that I see was reported SIX years ago!! (And they said they were going to fix it.) I just caught it. I'm sure they think most people don't give a crap and just grab and go, but I was actually looking at the label, and there it is, clear as day: HAND SOAP. And on the back, the directions say that it is for use in washing hands. Nothing about dishes. Yes, there's a small reference to dishwashing liquid on the lower part of the label, but unfortunately they moved the footnote down lower, making it look like the dishwashing reference is part of the footnote: "*vs. Dawn non-concentrated dishwashing liquid." The label version I was looking at in my grocery store was different from the one here. I'd attach a photo of the label version I saw, but that feature isn't working for me. You can see it on the Staples website, though. Since I couldn't be sure what the product was, I didn't buy it. Dawn, please fix your labels, and hire a proofreader next time.

Why? Just why?

JC23 July 1, 2021

Okay, I bought this online from a big box store. It said dish soap. I get it and it says hand soap on the front. On the bottom front it says “*VS Dawn non-concentrated dishwashing liquid.” On the back it says “Purpose Antibacterial hand soap” and “Use for handwashing to decrease bacteria on the skin.” It goes on to say wet hands and forearms and scrub thoroughly. At no point anywhere on this bottle does it say it's dishwashing liquid. I'm still not sure if it is actually dishwashing liquid. Because if it was, wouldn't they say so? Why? Why would Dawn force people to have to search for answers on its use?? It's ludicrous and a waste of my time. Is it hand soap, dish soap, both?? I shouldn't have to wonder. The product should be CLEARLY marked with what it is. It should say dishwashing liquid/hand soap if it is indeed both. And the back should give instructions for both. Smh. Do better Dawn!

TERRIBLY MISLEADING LABEL

melder63 February 28, 2021

I've used the original blue Dawn detergent religiously for decades, but my store was out of it when I needed to buy more. The Apple Blossom was the only option left and I almost put it back on the shelf when I read "hand soap," but assumed it was a double-duty product when I read "dishwashing liquid" further down the label. I finally ran out of the blue detergent and simultaneously ran out of hand soap in my sink dispenser, so pulled this out to refill it. Once again, I was confused about whether it was actually JUST a hand soap or also a dishwashing liquid, so I scrutinized the label once more. I see that The Dawn Team continues to insist "It says hand dishwashing liquid right under the brand logo." No, it most definitely does not say that—not under the brand logo nor anywhere on the product labeling. In fact, the "Purpose" indicates only "Antibacterial hand soap" and the "Use" indicates "for handwashing to decrease bacteria on the skin." Nowhere except for "DISHWASHING LIQUID" on the front label does this product appear to actually be for dishwashing. Most consumers don't feel compelled to have to read the "Purpose" and "Use" for a product they've already used many times, and had I felt the need to do so at the time, I would not have made this purchase. I have not yet used this product on dishes, and if I find that it doesn't cut grease with the same effectiveness as the original blue formula, I may feel inclined to request my money back. Incidentally, I have a 20-year career as a professional proofreader for advertising content and this makes me believe that you are either intentionally trying to mislead consumers to sell product or your QC protocol is utterly inadequate. Either way, your loyal consumers deserve better.

A perfect example of a bad label. Wñ

RickS77 September 15, 2022

I bought this product off the shelf, and when i got home to store i read the label. This has to be the worst labeling a brand can have. I had to enter the website to check if this was a handsoap or dishsoap or both or what. If dawn wishes to enter the hand liquid market they should use another of the brands p&g has. The 2nd moment of truth for me was really bad (I know mr AG Laffley no longer runs the company but he would have understand what i meant. The labeling should clearly says what you are buying. Shame on the ABM who approved this
