My old school thermometer is hard to read and takes a while to register results. I love this instant read. The instructions are a bit vague so use common sense. Note that the battery is inckuded but there is a protective tag attached that keeps the battery live until ready for use. I love the easy to read display,

Digital thermostat
This is an easy to use meat thermometer. In my opinion i think it is a good quality thermometer that isn't too expensive.

Handy Kitchen Food Thermometer
This food thermometer is a good size for the kitchen. It will work well for testing frozen dinners when the microwave directions call for that.

It would be great to be able to use this, but it didn't come with or say it needed a battery. I have always been accustomed to thermometers coming ready to use.
