looks great, perfect fit, and holds more than it looks like it can. i ordered the driver side wheel well box two days later, whats nice about the two boxes is that you don't loose front to end space in the bed. the boxes are just a tad past the wheel well, not enough to inerfere with the cargo space.
Tool box is great. Material is a bit flimsy. The brackets for the inside shelf was a pain to install. I actually bought one for each side of the truck and opted to not install the brackets on it. I wish they had a handle to open it instead of just a key.
The locks don't work properly/easily, which isn't too much of a problem since I have a topper. But when the topper comes off will have to address it. Otherwise these fit and work exactly as I needed since I like the full length of my short box for storage
I have purchased Dee Zee for all my truck / toolbox needs all my life but was severely disappointed by this one. The metal is extremely thin and welding caused severe warping. Warping of the cabinet left it very difficult to install the angles for the interior cabinet divider which I strongly believe should have been done at the factory with a jig of sorts i guess they cut all the corners they could on this one.
Drilling the matching holes thru the outer plate into the angle piece for the inside support pieces was very difficult. For the money paid for this Tool box i expected it to be fully assembled or at least be easier to assemble. I expected the box to be more rigid.
its aluminum not steel easy to be damaged, returned item because of damage not sure where or what damaged the item, maybe better quality control at manufacturing company. eady to break into.
Overall appearance is decenct, with the exception of the welds. My biggest complaint is the thin material used for the box which makes it very flemzy. The lid twists when you open it, sidewalls will dent with very little pressure. Depending on where you mount the bracket the bolts are in the way of the inside lid so you will have to cut them off. For the money spent I would expect a much better product.
Thought I would give this a chance, since other boxes like this were so expensive. When I got it, it was bent in a way that the lid wouldn't even shut, so I had to bend it back. The lid won't stay shut unless latched, and you need the key to operate the latch. Literally the first bump that I hit with it installed, a hammer bounced and hit the lid from the inside, bending the locking mechanism and opening the lid. I bent the piece back just with my fingers, so obviously anyone who wanted to break in would just have to pull hard and they would have it. Ended up replacing the whole thing with my own design. I honestly didn't expect much from this toolbox, but I was still really disappointed with it. This should not cost $250+. With all of the work that I had to do to make it functional, I would have saved time and money by just buying sheet metal and building my own box from scratch.
Mostly cheaply made product I have ever purchased. They had to send me new locks, the old ones din't work. New ones still don't work smoothly. Lid is too big and way too loose. The body of the toolbox is as thin as foil. Needed to add additional exterior bracketing to secure so it wouldn't wobble. And don't even mention how expensive they are for what you get.
You have to assembly everything but the lid with very poor directions. The lid itself is flimsy and I would suggest you don't put anything in the box itself that you wouldn't care if it gets stolen because it wouldn't take much to bend the lid up. I bought because of the name brand. Cheaply made
