Works well. Makes it easy to step up on tailgate. No moving parts like the fold away steps, but it is still out of the way. Does not stick out. A third of the cost of the swing away steps. Just remove two bumper bolts, put on, and then put the bolts back on. A couple minutes if you have the right size socket. The angle of the picture makes it look like it sticks out, but it doesn't but a tiny bit. Seems well made. 2022 F-150.

Well worth it for the low cost. Sturdy and large enough to make the perfect step into truck bed. Super easy to install.

I was looking at this and the retractable one, and figured I'd get this one because it was cheaper. Now that I have installed it on my F150, I am really glad I saved the money. This thing is built robustly and bolts to the frame using the factory bolts. When you stand on it and bounce up and down, the step doesn't flex at all. It feels like it's part of the frame. While I have not tried the retractable one, I can't imagine that it's better than this in any way except maybe if you are concerned with aesthetics. If you are worried about clearance issues, I would not be concerned at all. This does not stick down further than the exhaust tailpipe does on the passenger side, so if you are hitting this on something you would also be ripping your tailpipe off.

It is very well made. Unfortunately, on my 2016 Ram 1500 it is almost touching the bumper. I can get my toes on it and step up but I want my whole foot on it. I loosen the bolts and pushed down on it but that's as far as it goes. Probably have to take it back off and use a Dremel to make the holes bigger. Certainly doesn't look like the picture in the ad.
