Great picture and quality for the price. The system is easy to setup and is well worth the investment. I have helped several people set this system up at their home and business. Have had no problems with any of equipment
Excellent value for your money. The product is carefully packaged and was received within 3 days of ordering.Installation can be a bit tricky if you decide to hide all the wires as I did.The picture quality is excellent especially if you connect to a 4K monitor.
Recently purchased this system, its it is very good for the price, image quality is just enough for surveillance of your home. Defender maybe though can look into offering some compatible LPR technology in the near future to be able to see/ provide lisence plates to authorities during a hit and run or something.. thank you guys!!
I love the new 4k system I just purchased. The digital zoom is wonderful and the picture is crystal clear. The adjustment on the cameras are not what I was hoping they would be, but with a little time I was able to point all the cameras where i needed them.
I installed Defender CCTV DVR in many place of my friends and families. It's great results but in video I found one issue like movement vision is not good steady results are good. Example a person or car movement stretched not like Poe or nvr. Only this issue should be solved. Thanking you
Pros: -solid products -good video capture -straight forward install of hardware Cons: -confusing nomenclature in DVR system setup. it could be easier. -App has two locations to enable/disable push notifications, should be just one. -camera has up/down tilt but not side too side.
Shipping was fast. Video quality is good. 60ft cable length was insufficient and had spend more for 100ft cables. IR Motion detection is horrible at night. Triggers an alert for very big, fly etc. Customer service has not replied to two of my cases. One for warranty registration and other for tech issue. So looks like they don't care much after the Sale. Mobile App is very basic. Downloading the video clip from phone is a hit or miss. It errors out most of the time saying “too short duration playback failed”. I am wondering if I made the right decision but this system based on reviews
Fairly easy to install but the app lacks functionality and one of the cameras didn't work
Just an OK review because the cameras are just OK. No left/right movement & narrow field of view. & no option to upgrade cameras. User interface is VERY confusing to me. I'm not computer illiterate, but the interface is confusing. However, set up instructions were good. Never got email notification to work. Images are pretty good. cables are good. Box & wires are a mess. That's not a knock on this brand, but in wired systems.
Was excited to set this up thinking it would be easy based on the number of 5 star reviews on their website. I was surprised to see that all the mobile apps have 2 star reviews and are not the easiest to use. If Defender could find a more complicated setup procedure I think they would. Even the customer service is meant to serve them and not the customer. No phone support. Chat is only available business hours on the east coast time. No after hour or weekend support. When chatting with support they send you to manuals and videos vs telling you want to do. What should have taken 5 min took over 2 hours. Save yourself the hassle and buy from a retailer. At least you won't be charged an arm and a leg to return and get a better system. BEWARE when setting this up they will ask you for no less than 4 passwords and verification numbers. Be sure to note the differences in their names. In one place they ask you to provide a password for a feature they don't even support. Come on! If you don't have the feature, hide it from your customers so they don't have to provide another useless password. Each password is labeled as something different in the support manuals. The email address you set up with the DVR doesn't get passed to the app. Once you figure out which password goes with what, and which verification number goes where, it works OK. For being 2020, one would think Defneder would have invested in better manuals and better user interface to make it easy, but this is the same ugly technology as the old DOS days of 1988. Also, the DVR wouldn't work with my older monitor that accepted an HDMI cable and on my widescreen monitor it stretches the view end to end so it is a distorted view. Get it together Defender.
