liked the movie when it was 1st released. been on my mind so I decided to buy it.

Albert brooks is a comedic genius. God, I love that man. This movie is so sweet and funny. Merile Streep is charming as usual. She is great fun as the reasonably well balanced lady and Albert is this hilariously tormented soul. Who can blame him? He's only had two past lives and I think he was eaten in both of them. LOL So no, he isn't filled with confidence in this life. Someone needs to put together a compilation of his works from the early days. He challenged the audience, he played with and engaged the audience in way similar to Andy Kaufman or a Norm MacDonald. They cast a joke out to the audience like a fishing line waiting to see if anyone takes the bait. They were brave enough, bold enough to drift in dead air like a lure and wait for the audience to take the hook. They knew we would and that is mastery of ones craft. Brooks' re-make of the "In-Laws" with Ryan Reynolds etc. was hilarious. David Suchet as Fat Cobra, that's all I have to say.

I got this movie for my son for Christmas. He saw it years ago and has been talking about it ever since. It's a fun romantic comedy that takes place in the afterlife. It's rated PG.
