This is a very well built pan. Wished I had bought these years ago.
I Love this pan, it is the perfect size and shape and is very heavy.
The Demeyer line of cookware is beyond belief. With the lid on I can put a solid frozen 5 X 5 piece frozen spaghetti sauce w/two meatballs on the lowest heat and have them not only defrosted but heated and ready serve in 30 minutes. No boiling of the stock (like what a microwaved would do giving it's hour long defrost cycle)! When I teach my grandchildren took cook I trust they will be using my hand down Demeyer Pots and pans.
This 3.2qt. is neither too big or too small for daily cooking. It is a saucepan you can also use for deep frying or heating up food, and also perfect for soup even wonderful to cook rice in it. This is probably one of the most best buy at our store for anyone who are looking a decent size pot that is also a wonderful quality cookware. This pot ensures impressive heat conduction, base stays flat even when heated, and maneuverability with the stay-cool 18/10 stainless steel handles are securely welded and extremely hygienic. Oven and broiler safe up to 500F and dishwasher safe.
When might we see a version of this saucepan in a 4-qt for Atlantis similar to what is available in your other lineups. We have the 2-qt but the 3.2 is too small and we prefer the handle over a 4-qt Dutch oven.
Not all sauce pans are created equal. And this sauce pan (in all the sizes) will make you a believer in better cookware. It/they cook so evenly that you don't have to fret over burnt bottoms and scrubbing to clean up. Managed, even heating is the trick to cooking well, and these sauce pans make sure of that. Demeyere made me rethink my cookware plan. I have spent my grown-up years upgrading to better cookware, which for me is (was) copper clad pans. But there are some challenges with copper, mostly maintenance. Enter Demeyere Atlantis. I love this stuff! It has all the best parts of copper cookware and it's easy to clean! In addition to being technically sound (it cooks well; heats evenly and is responsive to temperature changes), it has bonuses that help to justify the price. No rivets - no cleaning around those annoying little screw heads. Comfortable stay-cool handles – easy to grip and lift. Looks good – shiny exterior stays that way. Just a note – it is heavy, like copper, but some things can't be helped. There's copper in there, and copper is heavy.
The hyper-flat and multi-ply base work wonderfully well with an induction cooktop. Construction and finish are excellent. The size and shape of the the 3.2 saucepan result, however, in an extremely heavy piece of cookware. This is noticeable when the saucepan is empty; even more so when the saucepan is full. A helper handle would have made a significant improvement. Recommenced with reservations.
I like how it cooks and distributes the heat, although the saucepan is very heavy. However, the downside is that the handle on the lid can get VERY HOT. Demeyere/Zwilling should give serious thought to how to redesign this handle.
New cookware follows a new kitchen. This 3.2 quart sauce pan is used at least three times a week. Wife loves it. Even heat, easy to clean and wife says it handles well despite the heavy weight. If you are looking for a 3.2 quart pan check out the Atlantis line. Looks amazing on our new stove also.
Worked great for the first few months -- then randomly stopped being detected by my induction stove top. No warping, signs of misuse, or anything... super weird! Starting a warranty claim on it, hence the 3/5, as it should be covered just fine. I'll update this review once there is an outcome...
