Dennison's Original Chili Con Carne with Beans, 26g Protein Per Serving, 15 oz. Can

I've been eating Dennison's canned chili with beans for as long as I can remember, and I'm a 'Baby Boomer', so it's been awhile! :) Not sure, I won't bet on it, if the recipe has changed through the years, I don't remember, I just KNOW that it's still my favorite up against a few other big names. Regardless, the FACT is the recipe is less sweet than all the others, more of a honest Southwestern chili seasoning to me, AND the Pinto Beans (NOT Kidney beans!) are always cooked just right, nice and tender, not too firm, not mushy! :) So, yes, I'd recommend it to others, and YES I'll be buying more! I always keep a dozen or more cans on hand, just in case! ;) (See pantry photo! LOL)

Dennison's original chili con carni with beans is the best tasting canned chili we have found. We were introduced to it while in Nevada visiting our daughter and son- in-law several years ago. They always have some on hand for a quick and tasty meal. We could never find Dennison's chili locally so we have been buying it when we visit them and bringing it back home with us It is so good!

Generally, I don't like canned chili but fell in love with the taste of one. My boss offered a bowl of this and wow I've been eating it ever since. One can makes two meals if you pair it with steamed rice and two Redondo's Hawaiian Winners hotdogs. Yummy!

I HEAT THIS UP, PUT SOME IN A FLOUR TORTILLA AND BROWN IT ON ALL SIDES, ADD A LITTLE MORE CHILI TO TOP ALONG WITH DICED ONION AND SHREDDED CHEESE, A FABULOUS DINNER

We've been eating this chili for years because it's the closest to our competition chili we can find in a store. Great with cheese, onions, crackers, sour cream, you name it.

I really like these because it doesn't give me gas and I can hangout with my friends without worrying about breaking wind every 10 minutes.

Prefer the regular chili con carne with beans vs the chunky. Real good chili at a reasonable price!

I bought this on the word of a site that rated it as the best canned chili. I should have known I wouldn't agree when the review only mentioned the tenderness of the beans. It was basically meatless. However I made a pretty good chili con carne with it by adding two thick strips of bacon chopped and fried, a thick hamburger patty also chopped %26 fried, a handful of chopped green peppers and onions sauteed in bacon grease, and Tapatio hot sauce to the whole can of Dennison's. So indeed it does make a good base for actual chili.

Where's the beef? Very little beef in the chili. Too many beans. Might as well have been a can of kidney beans. Taste was blah. Won't buy again.
