I've always had gas trimmers but with my DeWalt batteries this was a good suprise. It's lightweight but cuts grass really well and the wife likes it too.
this has been a game changer! left gas weed eaters to plug in and now to this years and years later and it's just nice not having to do much of any maintenance
I bought this yesterday set it up today. Tried it out and it works great he recommend buying it for anybody that wants one.
I've owned this trimmer for 4 years, so far so good. I highly recommend using at least a 5ah XR battery with it, which will trim my yard (fully fenced small city lot) easily on one charge. Only issue I have with it is the loading of line could be easier, although once it's in, this unit works awesome!
I have a small yard that I push mow. for small weeding jobs it does the trick. mine was tool only but I have two 20v 2 ah batteries. they work but not for long. ended up buying a 20v 8 ah battery for it, it works about twenty minutes on it. all the time I need. ( small yard ) enough power for me, If you have lots of weed wacking to do, Don't even think about this.
no assembly needed works great has as much power as gas powered very happy
I bought this last year in the fall. I didn't like the twin string head design at first as it seemed to not feed correctly. I thought it would get better the more I got used to it. I found that I absolutely hate this trimmer the more I have to fight with it. I have had no issue with the power head at all. I wish they had a better string system. I do not recommend it. I will need to replace this and it is basically brand new but too frustrating to keep trying to use.
Very disappointed in this trimmer. I spent more time having to detach and rewind the spool than what I did trimming. The head is a poor design with rough edges which breaks the string inside of the head. Previous Dewalt designs worked great. This one is garbage.
I bought this weed eater today. This is by far the worst product of Dewalt I have ever owned. In all honesty I have never reviewed any other product and I have 20 plus products I would rate 4 or 5 stars. I'm sorry I didn't leave those positive reviews, but this product was so bad I felt like I should warn people. This string trimmer head is horrendous. I had the preloaded string that came with the product and had to take it apart multiple times because the string kept breaking off inside and binding up. Then I put new string in that was a bigger gauge, same thing it was breaking off inside. Then I go back to a smaller gauge still the same problem. To take the head off you have to “unlock,” seems straight forward yet such a pain, unlock and pull much harder than you'd think you would and have the line unspool. The reason I purchased this string trimmer was my old Dewalt trimmer, the 20v that could fold up, the motor seized up, fair enough I had it 4 or 5 years. The head on that was great pinch 2 tabs pull it off. I switch because I was told that model had issues and was the most frequently returned. Now I'm stuck with this trimmer that will most like be broken with in a month because I'm going to spike it like an NFL rookie scoring his first TD. I wanted the 60v but couldn't justify 300+, I'm not sure if I saved money or caused this headache. (Bought at D&B supply)
I was gifted this trimmer. I am as loyal to Dewalt products as anyone. This is the only product that can't handle the job it's intended to. It was used to do quick trimming around the yard and it stopped working properly within a month. Maybe the 60V is better - but the 20 can't handle the workload.
