DEWALT 20V MAX 4.0Ah Compact Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (DCB240) – Extended Runtime, Lightweight Design, LED Fuel Gauge

These new 4ah battery packs are half the size of the old 4ah battery packs and nearly identical in size to the 2ah battery packs that many of us have. I love my old 4ah battery and my 6ah battery but due to the size usually reserved them for my larger, higher current demanding tools. That won't be an issue any longer with these compact 4ah battery packs. Over Christmas break I decided to build myself a new workbench and got through the entire project with just one charge on one of these bad boys. My Dewalt 20v tools did all the work including cutting the wood with my circular saw, drilling dozens of pilot holes with my drill, and driving in screws with my small impact.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my 4Ah batteries and was anxious to start a project where I could test them more than just sticking them on a drill and proving that they work. We had a small house trim job coming up and that was the perfect opportunity. I put one on a 7 1/4" miter saw and one on a 16ga trim nailer. The nailer was used for 8 hours and the battery was still going strong. The battery on the miter saw lasted around 5 hours with almost constant use. I really don't like to take a battery all the way down because you take a chance it won't take a charge, but this one charged right back up and went back to work. I like the size and may consider my next battery purchase to be the 4Ah instead of the 5Ah.

The size is just larger than my old 2.0 batteries but offers twice as much power without a lot of extra weight or added space. Perfect for tools you hook on your belt and wear all day. A nice compromise for hand held tools to last a long time but not kill your wrist from holding them all day

I bought This a month ago and absolutely love it. Lots of power fast charging and the overall weight to tool ratio especially attached to impact is implacable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These batteries came in handy on a in-law unit remodeling job my wife and I did. I used these batteries to power my Graco ultramax cordless air sprayer and paint all the base boards. The sprayer came with two 2Ah batteries and I've used these before to paint trim and base boards but don't last very long and I have to switch batteries midway through a paint job. These were a great balance between having enough power and weight. The sprayer still felt light and balanced in my hand. The new 4.0 compact batteries had more than enough power left after spraying all the base boards.

There is a slight weight difference between the two batteries. The compact is a little bit lighter. What I like best about it is using it as a charger for work so much easier to carry around.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The compact 4Ah 20V battery works good on my impact, drill, and tools like that so far. Its holding up to some drops from a 6' ladder in my impact I like the fact that it's smaller height wise allowing me to fit into smaller spots. The extra width makes it harder to get on and off with the belt clip and kind of bent the clip. But for me that is not a deal breaker. I havent gotten to try it on bigger heavy draw tools yet but with the way it has performed on the low draw tools and lasting what seems forever before i have to charge it again. I would like to say it will to just fine and probably lighten up some weight off the bigger heavier tools. I would definitely recommend this if your looking for a battery thats smaller and still packs a punch but not breaking the bank. As the days start getting colder in Connecticut it doesnt seem to be loosing and charge well they wait to be used.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this little battery. It is a bit lighter than original, so will help people who might have arthritis. It has a very convenient meter on back to let you know much battery life you have left and it has a smaller profile than previous versions...you really can't go wrong with any Dewalt products that I've noticed....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's ok. It is thinner than the previous DCB204 but that's about the only main difference. As for weight, I did not notice any significant changes between the two, in fact the DCB240 is actually wider and longer than the DCB204. I also noted that the run time between the DCB240 and the DCB204 was comparable. If the DCB240 was sitting on the shelf next to the DCB204 and the price was the same, I don't know which I would choose.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this on my drill every day to wind my straps up on my flatbed truck. It will last about a week maybe four days or so. Compared to the powerstack what it's about equal the PowerStack last may be one day longer and that's about the 1.7 amp hour battery.
