DeWalt 20V MAX 8 in Brushless Cordless Pruning Chainsaw (Tool Only)

Outstanding saw! Followed all instructions and it works like a champ! No oil leakage at all. Just cut through some 5 inch hardwood with no issues at all. Made 6 cuts and battery still shows full strength. More erogromic than the high cost Milwaukee M18. Safety switch is a bit cumbersome but workable. Love this saw!!

Bought this chainsaw to help compliment my pruner (DCPR320B) when clearing overgrowing branches. The pruner was great at helping to break down smaller twigs and even half-decent sized branches, but the chainsaw was a lifesaver once it came time to breaking down the bigger branches. People complain about bar oil leaking, I empty the reservoir after each use (manual says to do so, anyway) using a funnel, so it's never been an issue. Well worth the money.

We love it. I have a small horse farm and we have small brush around the paddocks. It's a terrific tool. I've been using it for over two years. It's a huge time saver and so easy to use everyone over 21 enjoys it.

I've been using this 20V MAX 8‑inch brushless pruning chainsaw for a while now, and it's been a solid performer. It cuts well, feels sturdy in the hand, and handles small to medium pruning jobs with no problem. It could be just a touch better in a few areas, but overall it's reliable, convenient, and exactly what you'd expect from DeWalt. I'd recommend it — DeWalt stays the best in my book.

We bought this including 2 5mah batteries to have while camping. Perfect for cutting up fallen trees or larger wood to make a better fire. First trip it was amazing. Packed it up in a tote box we store our setup gear in. 3 weeks later preparing for our next trip, I noticed the chain saw had leaked bar oil all over the inside of the tote. Getting tools covered, and just an overall mess. Cap was tight. So not sure why it leaked.

Love the saw and the way it cuts. Excellent in terms of power and cutting ability. One small dislike is the safety switch it difficult to use. The huge dislike is the oil leaks when not in use. Why can't Dewalt solve this obvious issue?

It would be a 10/10 IF it did not leak all over the place when stored. It is not practical to drain oil after every use. No other manufacturer recommends this as a fix and I doubt Dewalt would either. It cuts well, it is lightweight, it has lots of power from the 20v battery BUT there seems to be seepage of oil when stored after use. I wish there would be some kind of fix that DeWalt would offer for fix.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this late spring of last year. It works great for small limbs, and smaller trim jobs. Lightweight and easy to handle. However, it leaks oil anywhere and everywhere you set it. We've only used Dewalt brand oil, followed recommended fill directions; yet leaks it wherever you set it. Others have had the same issue, should have looked at reviews before purchasing. We have an unsightly oil spot on front porch, one on the 4-wheeler sideboard and garage floor. What a mess. We have two larger chainsaws different brand, they've never leaked. Went to get it out for a small job yesterday, oil everywhere…again. Love other functions of the small pruner just can't deal with the oil leak. Has to be a flawed design with the oil reservoir.

Ive had this pruning saw for a lottke less than a year. It's had very little use. Once in a while it would not do anything when trigger pulled. Most generally functioned as it should and felt it was of good quality and worth the amount paid. The other day i took it oit to cuta small pieceof wood vine. It caught on the chain and stopped. Pulling it back, i pulled the trigger and nothing. Checked my battery and it was at 3/4 charge. Installed back up battery which had full charge.... nothing. Brought theunit home and stored in a dry location after blowing the unit out. Still nothing. For the price paid, it should definitely last more than ayear with light use. I work for the state transportation system and have only used this unit at work for small branches etc covering road signs.
