I purchased this because I got sick of hauling around a compressor and hose. It is a bit bulky but has worked great for all my projects so far. I used it the other day to put up some baseboard and trim and was worried it might split the wood but it didn't. I have another similar project coming up this weekend and plan to try it again.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Most of the time when some corporate reviews say "this baby packs a punch" its just a PR byline. However this beast sinks 16 ga finish nails into solid Oak and Hickory or Mahogany without bending, bouncing or splitting the wood. You set it for single shots or multiple shots and it could careless. The balance is awesome the battery last long and charges fast rrrrr. Notice i said this "this beast sinks 16ga finish nails" put away your nail set. We finally have engineers who listen to the end user and gave them what they wanted. Thanks Dewalt
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this nailer about a year ago, I was skeptical at first, but I was quickly impressed. Plenty of power, it will drive 2" nails and counter sink them in oak base clean and quick. If you do finish trim work, you want this nailer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a carpenter I believe in buying the right tool for the job. With Dewalt tools my days go smoothly. The tools I use are what make the quality of work I look for easily obtainable. This is just one of many Dewalt tools that I own. I recommend Dewalt tools to anybody.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So this gun is rather big for a finish gun. It has a bit of weight to it, but works very well. I've run probably 5-7k nails through it with no issues. It's nice not having to carry the air compressor and hose everywhere. All in all I'd say the size and weight are the only drawback.
Don't get caught up in all the weekend warrior and do-it-yourselfer reviews. I bought 2 of these and we only get 3 months out of them, using them every day. If you depend on your tools to pay your bills your going to be sorely disappointed.
I've purchased the angle nailer first and was disappointed with it. It jammed all the time and ended up throwing it away. I just trashed my second straight nailer this week after having it repaired for jams non stop. Dewalt nails were worse than paslode nails.
I used to think that DeWalt was the way to go for cordless tools. Not anymore. Trying to get repair quotes and shipping information has turned out to be an exercise in futility as the website offers only a circuitous, never ending "do-loop" that never ends AND never provides a simple answer. Even this "customer" review is a very poor joke that will lead to nothing in the end.
