Powerful and Intuitive

Jonathan H August 30, 2026

Specifically bought this trimmer for the 60v power, interchangeable heads, and the fact that the motor is not directly on the trimmer head. I've had no issues with any size or thickness of grass/weeds. There is plenty of power to address anything thrown at it. I also have the edging and pole saw attachments which are both easy to install and intuitive to use. The edging attachment is extremely powerful even in the low setting has no issues breaking through soil to create a sharp edge. Paired with a 9AH FlexVolt battery this has plenty of power and runtime to tackle anything I've thrown at it. I recommend this product to anyone in the DeWalt battery ecosystem.

YEARS OF USE, DOES NOT DISAPPOINT

Jason King June 23, 2026

Bought Years Ago No Regrets!! This unit has plenty of power. If there are any complaints, I suggest checking your batteries or how your abusing your tool. You have to use the large 60V batteries and not be forcefully abusive! I have only 1 issue, at the clamping coupler. it wiggles a little, I have looked it over many times and there isn't much to be done about it. The brush cutter when used respectably, with cut through some impressive thick saplings. misuse it once, and get a good scare... I DID! SAVE THE PROTECTIVE CAP. DO NOT LOSE THAT. When you change attachments you need to be sure and put the plastic cap on the removed attachment. that what keep the inside drive shaft clean and functioning smooth. I do wish the additional attachments were available in ASLASKA!!! #DEWALTlisten up

Excellent Trimmer w/ support for other attachments

arndtc July 2, 2026

I bought this 60V DeWALT trimmer to match my other DeWALT tools, and a I've been extremely happy with it. I used it all last summer when we had a lot of rain, for my yard and to trim around the fence both on the maintained side as well as the open area. This helped to keep down the critters coming into our yard. And because of the support for other attachments, I can swap out the string trimmer with my Ryobi edger attachment and I don't have to power up my gas trimmer/edger anymore.

The best trimmer I've seen

Anonymous April 29, 2021

I don't understand the bad reviews from people that don't know how to use them. The part that the accessories fit into isn't in the right position in the photo, the person should know that. If a person goes to attach accessories, all weed trimmer accessories fit the same way, if the speedometer type cable is inserted into the top portion correctly it will work, it has to because it becomes direct drive. I have many attachments from my old trimmer they all fit perfectly. I edged my complete patio and only used 2 bars on the battery. I have a half acre and trimming around the deck, fence both sides and flower beds twice and used only one bar. I don't run lithium batteries low because they live much longer if recharged. I once had a lithium battery from another manufacturer and it wouldn't take a charge until I connected it to another good battery, it still works great. This Dewalt is powerful enough on high to chip wood fence posts just like my old gas unit. The motor is in the rear so it doesn't get clogged with debris like others

Bad reviewers

CM tools March 19, 2021

It's frustrating when someone leaves a bad review who doesn't know the product. Dewalt didn't forget to drill a hole in the shaft like the other reviewer stated, that piece is a protector and gets removed to accept the attachments. A buddy and myself both bought these units and were both very happy with the quality and parts. Nice power and options as Dewalt used the universal attachment system. I don't have anything bad to say

Love this product…..but

JK000 September 17, 2026

I bought this product as a Fathers Day special. I really like the ease of use but all of a sudden the string in the trimmer just spits out and wraps around the spindle. I don't know why it just stopped working correctly. I would appreciate any suggestions to correct the problem other than buying a Huskvarna T35 head ti solve the problem

Great concept, poor QC on the string trimmer

TooOldToQuit August 31, 2026

The side walk edge trimmer works great and has plenty of power but I'm not impressed with the edge trimmer. The head will not sit evenly on the tensioning spring causing one side to always be engaged while the other side is disengaged from the teeth on the spool; causing the string to come out at an uncontrollable rate. It tangles 18-24” of string around the head every time I bump the spool for more string. Hopefully Dewalt can make it right in a timely manner and live up to the brand name.

Disappointed.

Real world - Lasted 18 minutes on low speed with full charge. Good four touchups or small yard.

Terrible Trimmer

BigBen July 7, 2023

Purchased this trimmer online after checking-out some of the reviews, so I THOUGHT I was getting a superior product, especially for the amount of money spent. After fully charging the battery and the first time using the trimmer, the battery only lasted about 10-12 minutes, which was only about 1/2 the time needed to complete the job. And I only ran it on low speed too, and the grass being trimmed wasn't even that tall at only about 4-5” tall. Then while trimming, the line kept getting jammed and then totally stopped feeding. I had to open the feeder cup 6 times and re-spool the line that YOU installed at the factory. Eventually the remaining footage of the spool of line actually just shot out of the spool cup onto the ground. At this point, I would NOT recommend this product, unless you enjoy being aggravated! Common DeWALT, get it together and fix these issue that many of us are having!!! Getting ready to send this trimmer back, but in all fairness I will give DeWALT a couple of days to reply & address these issues. Thanks.

Loosing faith in DeWalt quality

LeRoy26 June 30, 2026

Purchased in 2023, and was great for a bit. But have yet to run 2 dozen batteries through it. Have been a lifelong DeWalt owner (over 10K spent on your tools, as I am a general contractor), but feel that "quality" is useless when you have a "big name". Other tools of mine have been less than ideal, to say the least. Bump feed doesn't work. Half the line always breaks. Line tangles often. Instructions are beyond horrible. Worst of all - entire spool housing is complete junk!!! Aluminum on the body is blowing holes in it, small notch is now bigger than it should be, bearing is falling apart, aluminum "D" nut is very rough, guts of spool are stripped, and will not sit properly. Sure, I can purchase a new trimmer spool, but I don't know if thats the cure. I buy a tool to make my life easier, not harder. Wish I had my cheaper gas Stihl still, it was miles ahead of this product.
