wish I had them years ago.

fdsaasdf January 2, 2026

I wished I had these years ago as you get older authorized to get in your hands. all you have to do is squeeze the trigger. before. when you did your timing, you carry nippers and larger long handle neighbors now you only carry one thing around. just keep your second hand away. I think about cutting my finger off every time I pull the trigger.

No more strain pain!

pat May 26, 2025

While I haven't used this particular tool just yet I have used my neighbors before I decided to get one and they were pretty good at doing what they were supposed to do quickly and efficiently without having to muscle a cut using a long handle manual set.

Great labour saver.

GarnG April 20, 2023

I bought this pruner about 3 months ago. Excellent. I've made thousands of cuts with no issues. Branches over 1 inch might require two or three clicks of the trigger to cut through. The safety switch times out after 30 seconds of non use (to keep you from taping it closed im sure!) Each time you make a cut, the timer resets, so it's not a problem. If it times out, you let go of the safety switch and squeeze it again to reset the timer. The blades could be a little harder. Mine have a few marks on them, and I've never cut anything but softwood branches. I'll take a diamond file and touch them up if I notice them dulling. Works for hours on a 5Ah battery.

Easy to use and have never had trouble with battery wearing out before I finish the job I'm working on.

Handy Pruner - Be Careful

John May 17, 2026

This Pruner is very handy and powerful. My first one lasted about five years of abuse. Whenever I use it I 'm always aware of where my fingers are before pulling the trigger. Be careful!

cuts 3/4" diameter limbs no problem. It seems like it would do at least 500 or so. It can do larger but really takes a lot of amps. M wife saw me using it and asked that I return because there is no safety guards to keep from cutting fingers off. it would not phase it to stump a finger or two. obviously i said no to returning it, she said then make sure to find and grab your finger so it can be sown back on. I like the tool, it saves a lot of time and energy compared to loupers.

Great Tool with one Fault

Steve4865 September 15, 2022

This tool is very handy and saves so much time pruning but it does have one problem and that is that the power cuts out every few minutes when pulling the trigger and I have to wait it out until it decides it wants to work again. Not even the light will come on. My guess is that it could possible be the safety switch being faulty as others have had the same problem. Otherwise, what an awesome product, it really is a tool that saves a huge amount of time when pruning.

Good but also disappointing.

K Anderson March 22, 2026

Good but also disappointing. I have a Milwaukee pruner at work (golf course maintenance) so I can give a good comparison with this Dewalt tool which I bought for home use. The good is that the hand feel and battery swapping is much better on the Dewalt. Cutting performance is very similar with the dewalt seeming to be a bit faster and cutting at an easier hand angle. But the Dewalt is brand new vs my Milwaukee at work which has been in steady use for 3 years now. So time will tell if the performance holds up. The disappointing part is that this tool could be SO much better. The first BIG disappointment was discovering that this uses old brushed motors. Brushed motor tech is so outdated now that I sometimes forget to check my electric tools before buying as was the case this time. That guarantees poor efficiency, reduced performance, and a shorter useful life, not to mention visible sparking and arcing inside the tool body that creates a burning smell, and likely damage over time as grass clippings from the lawn, or sawdust from my chain saw get into the pruners and burn while I'm working. The second disappointment is cost for an outdated tool. I have more than a dozen Dewalt 20V Max tools so it does make some sense to keep adding to the collection but I can get similar performance and quality from smaller, lighter rechargeable tools from several non-American competitors now for about half the price, or much better tools from a few premium brands for a similar price as the Dewalt tools. So I have to wonder if sticking with Dewalt is worthwhile any longer as they seem to be falling behind on modernizing their lineup. So the end result is that while the tools are still good, they are no longer great or all that competitive. My last 2 (this one and a small chain saw) have really not been good value for the money when compared to competitors products. Sadly Dewalt is starting to feel like paying for a BMW but getting Buick instead ... still good, but really not worth the price premium.

Value for the money. I gave it one star. This item costs over $100.00 but does not come with a charging battery. It's not worth my money. I returned the item.

Dewalt Pruner

The product is great. The delivery was my problem it went from LV to SLC to Connecticut then back to SLC and then Boise. I am less likely to use Walmart online shopping in the future.
