I work in the landscape industry so chainsaws are a common part of my week. I never thought much of an electric saw but with the amount I set the saw down while pruning I figured I'd try one that doesn't have to be running constantly. Let me say this saw has a surprising amount of power, it cuts fast and gives around 35 mins of life on a standard 5 ah battery. It's been a game changer for my business. Totally recommend!
I LOVE this chainsaw. Using it every day for fire mitigation in Colorado on some very dense debris filled forested land. I feel good about it as my first chainsaw and have confidence in using it. Recommend it to everyone who asks how I am clearing land. Dewalt 12 inch chainsaw for the easy fire mitigation win!!
Bought this saw for trimming and cutting down brush along the roadway. I had to use it a couple times before writing a review. For what I'm using it for its light and works great. You do need to have the rpms up on the chain before getting into the wood but it does go right through honeysuckle. Also took down a 12" dead ash with ease. I've read some reviews about the bar oil leaking and was expecting that, just like my Sthil. This saw did leave some oil after the first use, about a quarter size puddle after sitting. After the next couple of uses, the oil spots became nonexistent. I don't fill the oil tank up all the way and I have not had to empty the tank after use. I do set it down on a piece of cardboard in storage along with my other saws. The battery has been lasting longer than I expected, in fact i haven't ran the battery down all the way yet. Overall I do recommend it.
Nice tool out of the box. Came with a battery and we went right to work. Used it on a fallen maple and some hickory as well. I like the design of the battery attachment under the unit and not in a “box” like the older models. Highly recommend. Added to my 20vDewalt collection
I use this at least more than 3 days a week in the daily process of my fencing company in South East Tx. Great product.
I did buy this a month ago and it's been perfect for all the hedge trimming and small trees I need to maintain. Some of that branches on the hedge were thick as he'll and the dewalt cut right through it as well as larger tire branches on the pine tree and soon I will use this to fell a full size tree. It'll be awesome cant wait
This thing is a little monster: it chews through branches and logs like an absolute champion, despite its small format. It's light, maneuverable and ready to go at a moment's notice: no waiting to mix gas etc. when there's storm cleanup to do. The only drawback is that it tends to leak chain oil: storing it on its side helps, but a tray is still recommended.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Alright ill be honest, never thought I'de own a battery powered chainsaw. Didnt think they would be strong enough, but here we are. I'm honestly impressed by this strong, little saw. It has the power you need. It's small, compact, quiet, lightweight, 8.1 lbs with no battery. Very easy to manage. I cut up some soaking wet pine logs, a couple slightly larger than the 12" bar but ate right through it no problems. Didn't bog out or freeze up at all, i was surprised. Cut right through dry white oak, also plenty of power, but forgot to take pics of the oak. All and all, nice little saw
Keep it in my van use it everywhere. I have 4 gas saws, but this is my little job tool. Like all Dewalt tools ,EXCELLENT
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Boy howdy is this a nice tool. It worked great for storm cleanup around the yard. Relatively quiet so can be used in places with noise restrictions and can hear other people around you while cutting. Not as fast as a gas powered saw but gets the job done.
