DEWALT DCD800B 20 v, XR Premium Compact Drill Driver

I've had my dealt drill for over a year now and I originally swore I wouldn't spend the money to convert my entire tool set. I gave it a shot and started with a simple drill/impact set and now I will never go back. This drill drives better, is more precise and has a much better feel than any drill I've ever owned.

I bought one a couple months ago and I have my own construction business and I'm very hard on tools and so far this drill has been put to the test and it has passed with flying colors. Powerful and durable everything a contractor can ask for. 5 stars

I bought this drill late last year and have put it through its paces. It has performed even better than expected, proving that my wife was, in fact, wrong about me not needing another drill.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This drill is great. It's so much smaller and more compact than my other drills but hasn't lost any power. It honestly has more torque I believe than my larger drills. Great power in a small drill. I can sometimes be working with a drill in my hand for hours and the dewalt grip is so comfortable. There's no hammer function, but I prefer that to be the case. Has an adjustable light that you can change the angle of the light to accommodate whatever situation you're putting it in which I also like. Overall I am very happy with the drill and it fits my needs perfectly.

By far my nicest DeWalt drill. The power to size and weight ratio is incredible! It's also stronger than the dcd791 like they say. Even the light is better and insanely bright on the top setting. And for so much for milwacky saying they have the shortest drill. The metal chuck is very high quality as well as the trigger. I've used it mainly for metal drilling and sanding away rust with a hub attachment. Seems a little quieter than the 791 too. I don't think i would change a thing about this drill. Keep it up DeWalt!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to try DeWalt's new 1/2" drill/driver because this is an area in which DeWalt's 20v tools have fallen short in the past. I have several DCD996 1/2" hammer drills, which are excellent but bulky. The price has come way down but my first was very, very expensive. They can do anything but it was overkill and it's wear and tear on expensive tools. I have a few bottom and mid-level 20v DeWalt drills and they are all gutless, especially the angle drill. It's been frustrating. However, this DCD800 fits the bill perfectly, and it does so at entry level pricing. It's not tiny but it's much smaller than the 996. It's burly, though, easily pushing twist drills and paddle bits, mixing paint, and stirring joint compound. The controls are where you'd expect them and work the same as any other DW drill/driver. The big surprise is the light: it's very bright. It's also entirely intuitive, requiring no learning curve. This DCD800 has already moved into a permanent place among the tools that stay in the truck at all times. I'll be buying another for the shop. I highly recommend this drill for private and professional use as a primary all purpose cordless drill.

Most of the work I do doesn't call for heavy hammer drills, so I'm mostly looking for something light, comfortable, but with enough power to get any job done (I know, sounds like the perfect tool, right??). For years my favorite drills were my Milwaukee 12 volt and Dewalt DCD791. Well, after using the new DCD800 for a couple weeks it has instantly become my go to! It has just as much power as any other drill I have and comes in a smaller package. I really like the adjustable LED light which is a fantastic addition. The more compact size compared to my other Dewalt drills makes it easier to use for an entire day. This drill has certainly been a great addition to my shop!

Absolute beast of a drill. More power than my 791 and that did everything I needed of it. Light, compact, and super durable.

No one buys a tool thinking it's not going to work and you need to buy extra items to make it work such as the battery and battery charger. Especially for this price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The light is perfect. It projects exactly where needed. It is even bright enough to use as a flashlight. The drill is about one inch shorter and makes it easier to work in tight places. The drill seems a bit heavier than others but is balanced nicely with a 5 amp hour battery.
