I had an issue, contacted "The Tool Guy" who sold this DCE530 heat gun to me through Wally, they responded almost immediately, rectified the issue and almost as fast as possible keeping shipping etc. in mind. I cannot say enough about how well the purchase, customer service(Tool Guy, not Wally) and issue transpired! I recommend purchasing from this seller 100%!
This heat gun is a great addition to the Dewalt 20v line of tools. On it’s low setting, it’s perfect for contouring adhesive vinyl sheets on non-flat items. On high, it makes quick work of heat shrinking cable connections. It’s even designed to be able to be used as a bench heat gun with the capability to lock the trigger in the on position. The only possible con I’ve found is that it does not have the capability of adding a belt hook, but honestly this eliminates the chance of accidentally burning your leg. All in all, it’s a very well built, light weight, portable option for a heat gun. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
So Dewalt came out with a cordless heat gun it’s about time, this is great for anyone in dewalt’s ever grow in 20v platform. I own a competitors cordless and a corded heat gun so I wasn’t sure if I pull the trigger on this tool, but let’s just say I’m glad I did DeWalt cordless heat gun has a quiet motor but puts out more heat than my other cordless heat gun, The first day I got it I actually used it on a service call for a plumbing job let’s just say after using it I will reach for this one over The other cordless I had on my truck. Dewalt didn’t just put out an identical tool With a different paint job they made it better. In the box you get a charger a five amp hour battery two heads and of course the gun. I have been through or tried a number of cordless heat guns. One brand I tried 4x as short as one day longest was two weeks. I attempted to contact them about their product design and they said I could return it. I need to depend on my tools, my business as a Marine Electrician and Marine Corrosion specialist requires my tools to perform in very demanding environments and I expect them to work..Others were equally disappointing. This tool is the best out there and I love it - well designed ergonomically and its a champ. I got three batteries total got the 20V MAX starter kit with bag and I have never ran out of battery power on a job. This this is the best cordless heat gun out there. Love the locking trigger and it's light and well designed. The heat is perfect for heat shrink and every termination requires heat shrink so I use it extensively daily. Love this tool!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this heat gun for about a year now and it does everything I expected it to. It works great for small jobs such as shrinking heat shrink tube, thawing a frozen lock, softening adhesives in small areas, etc. Basically anywhere you are doing a quick project that you don't want to drag out a cord and a big heat gun for 2 minutes worth of work. That being said it isn't going to replace a big corded gun for bigger jobs but I wouldn't expect it to. It's a convenient tool when used within the limitations it was designed for.
I got this heat gun two weeks back. I wanted to create some quality of life items with PVC pipe and needed to be able to bend it and mold it for my needs. My first task was to create some bag blockers for my bike rack. This heat gun excelled with this project. I do a lot of work on my roof (due to being in an apartment building in the city) and it was unbelievably convenient to bring this cordless heat gun with me. It's light (even with a large battery) and there was no need to run an extension cord to do the work I needed to. Not to mention, it's also just as powerful as all the corded heat guns I've tried! The nozzle attachments it comes with are also very useful. I ended up using both of them for this first project and they made the creation that much easier. I'd say the only downside is battery usage. Not a big enough concern for it to not be a 5-star review, but I highly recommend having a 5ah battery for any extended use. The smaller options will run out too quickly. A great buy and lives up to Dewalt's reputation for quality! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I work at a Large Equipment Dealer and have equipment in some very remote areas. Many of these have sun baked dealer decals which need to be replaced. I took the 20V MAX* Heat Gun with me to see how it would work to assist in performing this task. The results were very impressive for this battery powered heat gun. Very important to me was the fact that the gun has a trigger safety that keeps it from accidentally coming on if you should place it in a workbox full of other items or should a child attempt to play with it. It also comes with two removeable heat nozzles that direct the heat for various jobs such as paint removal, applying heat shrink to wiring, decal removal, ect. The gun comes with a 20 volt 5Ah battery. On the high temp setting, the gun worked great and this battery lasted long enough to remove two (2) medium size decals. I would reccomend using the 6Ah battery with this tool. I actually had a couple of the DeWalt 60 Volt batteries which also works with most 20 volt tools and was able to remove and replace at least 6 of these decals on a single battery. When I arrived back to my home I had a bad section of wire on my Harley so I spliced in a new section of wire and used this gun on the heat shrink that I used to secure this repair. The heat shrink did its job and I did not have to worry about burning the shrink material. Great addtion to my existing DeWalt tool supply. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
So, after reviewing this 20V Max Cordless Heat Gun...We came up with a few things. We also read previous reviews as we do for all our reviews. Let's be clear and understand what this product is meant for when you are purchasing this. This isn't replacing our DeWalt D26960K plug in model that can deliver better air flow, advanced heat settings and overall performance. However, this 20V model is exceptional in so many instances. There are a plethora of job applications where we just hate bringing the corded model out and having to run extension cords in areas with limited or no access to a plug. Positives: 1. Total portable and will work anywhere without power. 2. 20V Max System - The most versatile platform. 3. Accepts FlexVolt - The best thing ever and extends this runtime in 20V Systems. 4. DeWalt D26960K Accessories interchange with this unit. 5. Small and Compact - About the size of a DeWalt Impact Driver 6. Trigger Lock and LED Light Negatives: 1. Run Time on High with 5ah was 17m49s non-stop 2. Trigger safety is a bit awkward to get used to but no big deal. 3. No Bag or Hard Shell Case 4. No Belt Clip - However, we do understand why. Overall, we are talking about heat shrink, decals, stickers and adhesive, some flooring applications, etc. This doesn't replace your DeWalt D26960K...But, this adds so much more versatility to everything we do. The portability factor is huge in so many applications. Since the fittings for our corded model fit the DCE530...We purchased a small DeWalt Tough System Box and have them both in one box. It is quite surprising how many times you will grab the 20V Max model just out of convenience when you need these smaller tasks. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I've had this gun for several months, and have used it several times. Works GREAT! Great hard case and LOTS of different nozzles. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought this about a month ago and was surprised at how little a volume of air that comes out. Very poor quality for the price I paid. I keep looking at the intake area to see if something is blocking it.
