[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Once you get a hang of it, this thing is amazing. I purchased it to caulk about a mile of siding, no way I was doing it by squeeze gun. In low speed, after the 6th case it is still on 2 bars of a compact 2ah battery. The variable trigger and dial speed control really lets you find a good balance between speed and accuracy. The anti-drip feature works better with larger orifices, still drips when working with less than 1/4 inch.

Very happy with this tool, have been using it for about a month now and it holds up very well. Has a couple nice features including the variable speed and taking the tube case off for easy cleaning. Things it needs are a tip cutter on the gun, and the poker is pretty cheap and can be a nuisance. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone in the construction field.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To say I'm a "DeWalt guy" is an understatement, so to be disappointed in this product was quite surprising to me. This was supposed to be my "splurge" tool that I treated myself to and, unfortunately, any benefit it has provided has been offset by the only negative. I believe this product is worthwhile if you have long, continuous beads of caulk or adhesive to lay down as they tend to be very uniform and its use significantly reduces hand fatigue. For me, the problem comes into play whenever I stop. The drip-free feature of the gun doesn't work well for me and my applications and caulking or adhesive continues to slowly flow out of the tube for up to 30 seconds after releasing the trigger. I've learned that the moment I am done dispensing caulk or adhesive I have to manually pull the plunger back to relieve the pressure in order to stop or slow down the product dripping out of the end. Even then, set at the slowest setting, product still slowly flows out of the tube for five to ten seconds after use. Having to manage dripping caulk or adhesive immediately after dispensing it becomes very frustrating and aggravating, to say the least. Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but as of now my little treat to myself has become more of a hindrance than a benefit. I should add that most of my work involves laying down relatively short, thin beads and involves a lot of starts and stops which just magnifies the problem. But even at the slowest setting and with the plunger automatically pulling itself back once the trigger is released, I still have product flow out and drip on my work. All I can think is that, even at the slowest setting, the plunger advances farther into the tube than necessary creating pressure on a volume of the contents larger than what has been able to exit the tube so that even though the tube no longer has an actual force acting on it the interior has been compressed and reduced to hold less volume of product than has been dispensed and it continues to flow in an effort to reduce pressure and reach equilibrium. I don't know what I, or DeWalt in their design, can do differently to prevent this other than decrease the slowest dispensing speed even lower or for me to cut the tips of my tubes closer to the tube itself resulting in a larger dispensing hole, but for my needs I require as thin of a bead as possible and this product just hasn't been the right fit for that need. Again, those running long and thicker beads should love this product and the lack of constantly pulling a trigger to dispense caulk or adhesive has eliminated all hand fatigue and has allowed for very straight and uniform beads. Its performance is very smooth, consistent, and reliable. For many applications I can see this being a welcomed relief and for some even a dream come true. For mine, unfortunately, that just doesn't seem to be the case no matter how much I want it to in order to justify its cost or how much I want to love it the way I do every other DeWalt power tool I own. It should be noted that when asked if I would recommend this product to a friend I only had the option of answering "Yes" or "No." My actual answer would be "It depends" or "Probably" with a qualifier about what their intended use or application of it was. Just answering "Yes" isn't totally true and answering "No" isn't fair to DeWalt or this product.

just bought the caulk gun, works fine, BUT. Don't believe the description when it leads you to believe it will accept " different size cartridges ". Support department doesn't have a part number available. This ability to interchange the 10 oz. to the 29 oz. tube was a major reason for buying this gun. NOT happy!

One reason I decided on the DeWalt was due to the pull-back feature. The pull-back feature doesn't work. The caulk continues to flow even after I release the trigger. I have gotten use to releasing the plunger to stop the flow but then it is a huge hassle to figure out how long to wait before the caulk will strart flowing again each time I press the trigger.

I was loaned one of these to try and they are pretty cool was going to buy them for my whole crew as they do save time, ended up buying another brand that works just the same for 1/3 the price. First tool I have bought that wasnt DeWalt in 15 years. The price is rediculous for the tool however would have bought 5 of them if they were priced anywhere close to the other brands.
