Bought a couple years ago for disassembling dashboards in an R&D environment. Now I carry it everywhere for electrical work. The small platform and light weight make it easy to carry and still more than enough power to drill 1/2" holes in studs and zip down screws on the fly.
I bought this about 7 months ago to use for smaller and more intricate woodworking projects. I have the 20V and I wanted something a little smaller for putting shelving together and furniture. This has been exactly what I have wanted! It is compact and rugged enough for ongoing commercial use. It has plenty of power but you can dial it back for the intricate projects like cabinetry and other delicate situations. I would highly recommend it! You might think "why would I need a 12V?" Trust you will find yourself using it on a daily basis! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
After using this tool for about a week now and comparing it to the older dcf610 there are a few pros and cons to this tool pros it is more compact in length than the older model great for getting into small spaces found it great for installing cabinet hinges seems to be just as powerful as the dcf610 (older model) I compared it to the cons are not really cons just things that stand out to me the dcf601 (new model) is wider and taller than the dcf610 (older model) I haven't found it to be a problem yet but someone who is used to the dcf610 (old) may find it may not fit where that one did also the clutch adjuster I thought was metal like the older model after taking a closer look it is plastic that looks kinda like metal is that a problem not sure yet I haven't dropped it to find out but all in all if your looking for a compact screwdriver this is a great tool and it will drive a 3" deck screw not the purpose of this tool but it can do it [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I received the screwdriver about two weeks ago and I have used it multiple times already . I used it to put on some cabinet doors and the light on the front of this is amazing !! I have attached a photo so you can see. The clutch on this is also very nice it will stop you from stripping screws and hardware . I have also used this to drill holes for cabinet hardware I put clutch on MAX and use a 1/4 quick connect drill bit. This screwdriver fits that niche between the drill driver and impact . I would say this is used for more delicate work but can be used for other tasks as well . The battery fuel gauge is a nice touch on these updated 12v batteries but one of batteries I have the fuel gauge isn't working . It doesn't effect the performance of the battery at all . All in all I would say if your on the fence about this and you do a lot work that requires a screwdriver this is for you ! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought this tooled because I am remodeling and fixing things constantly in my house. I have a traditional 20 vt xr drill and impact combo set but was tired of the fatigue I would have after using them for hours. I was skeptical at first because it was a 12vt and like Tim the tool man Taylor's says, more power is always better. I finally got thai tool and put it to the test. I have changed out about 50% percent of plugs in my house with this tool and the other 30 or so percent with my 20 vt drill. The 12vt saved my wrist and got the job done with better control of the tool. The 2ah battery that came with the set I got lasted as long as I did during the day but I kept another one on standby just incase. If your looking to install a subfloor this probably isn't the tool for you but if your doing electrical, plumbing, hanging doors, or even working on appliances then this is the perfect tool. The precision and control added with the little to know fatigue this tool provides is amazing when you factor in the power it brings to the job. Great job Dewalt!! I got this drill about a week ago and it is amazi ng. Great power and fits in tight places. Battery is no concern because it will last all day almost. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I test this tool for almost 2 weeks, the best of this tool is the weight and is very simple to operate! Lot's of power for this small screwdriver eve when I instal some 4x4 metal boxes in metal stud works great. I use this impact for outlets instal, covers, switches and all types of lights ! I have used DeWalt cordless drills for several years at work and was impressed with how they held up to the abuse that they suffered. I need an impact driver occasionally but haven't bought one until now. I wanted something small and light but with enough power. The 12volt series appealed to me so I bought one. It is everything I hoped it would be and I enjoy using it. Time will tell but I am pleased with it and when my drill dies (Black and Decker Anniversary model) or maybe even before that I'll get a DeWalt replacement. I bought my son a skil saw and a 1/2" drill to keep him from borrowing mine. The quality on these corded tools is excellent and my son should get many years of use out of them. Again, my experience with DeWalt was what led me to buy them. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was out of town when a simple project went south and now need repairs. The price of the at the store was so affordable that I bought it just so I wouldn't have to put in 8 screws by hand. Now that I have it, I love it. I keep it in my truck toolbox. The small size allows me to use it in most places. I got the adjustable torque one, because for me this is used for smaller more delicate projects. With that said, it seems to have the power of my 20v impact. I bought this to help reduce the weight on my arm after surgery. I have found that this is now my go to driver at most times. I have my 20 Mc impact as a backup and for larger jobs. These are great for the Miscellaneous jobs, especially the ones that can be easily over tightened or damaged by an impact. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
