Moving up from a corded model to this is a game changer! Between the ease and freedom of using a battery, and the quick change blade, not to mention the 4-way blade orientation. AWESOME. Use for construction or tree trimming around the yard, either way a mark in the "Win" column
I bought the original version of this saw (DCS387) back in 2014 from hd. I still use it to this day (couple times a month) with the original battery. I beat the living snot out of it and it just keeps going... 100% recommend. Can't wait to pick up one of those new batteries and a few extra RPM with it lol
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this saw to be able to cut out studs behind drywall. This saw was able to fit in between and had plenty of power. I also like the 4 way chuck feature.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When i initially purchased this to i was unsure how it would perform compared to the full size sawzalls i had used in the past, however after the first use i was blown away. The compact size allows for much better control of the blade and allows you to get in between studs so much easier. The only complaint i have if any is it blows through a 20v battery in no time but with the new flexvolt 60v batteries now on the market problem solved. A fine edition to any carpenters nag of tricks.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this tool with 2 9ah flexvolt batteries and I use on the daily! I'm warning everyone...people will want to use this tool! It is perfectly compact for tight spaces and has a 4 position blade chuck so you can position the blades up and down and side to side. Yet another great purchase!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this compact saw as I was gradually upgrading from my old 18V tools (the 18V reciprocating saw still sees heavy use even after 15years...). Great in tight spaces, fast cuts. Just don't use cheap blades, the saw has more than enough power to snap them right off.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I would have gotten this reciprocating saw years ago. I have mainly used it for clearing out limbs and debris when building tree stand. I have also used it to break down pallets to build furniture from them. Also come in handy with landscaping where you have limbs that are to big for a hedge trimmer but you don't want to get out the chainsaw. Super handy tool to keep on hand.
Used it to cut thick cedar tree roots. Did the job so-o-o fast!!! Did not mind going thru the mud, dirt, small pebbles, etc. Very light and easy to use. The only cons - my 2AH battery got overheated very fast (just after 5-8 minutes). Now I wish I'd get a brushless version About myself: I work in healthcare and only occasional intermediate DIY. I am not a handyman at all, so don't know how this saw would perform in the professional construction environment
This saw is the happy medium between a small compact saw and a full sized reciprocating saw. With a more comfortable handle, and full sized saw power to boot.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great reciprocating saw! The only problem is the blade changing tab is made of plastic and it has worn down. Making it difficult to change the blade, I added some lubricant which helped. Otherwise I need to add a small nail to release or change the blade.
