Davsch April 4, 2018

How come on the website it says rafter hook included, I bought one, but no rafter hook. What's the deal

Easy to grab for a few quick cuts

Kestephens62 May 24, 2019

I bought this for when I just needed to make a few quick cuts or when I didn't want to drag out a bunch extension cords. So far it has worked fantastic and has more power than I expected for a cordless saw. I have no doubt that it will work great for larger projects as well

Fantastic saw

Ggieni June 2, 2023

Finally made the jump to a cordless 7-¼” circular saw. We use this daily and I have no complaints! Plenty of torque and cuts like a breeze. We use 4 and 5Ah batteries and easily cut for a full day or 2 cutting 2x6, 2x4 and long osb cuts on roofs. Comfortable and super stable. I wouldn't trade it for anything else. My only thought would be for the depth adjustment bolt to have a pivoting handle so that you can swing out of the way of the body. I find that these bolts stretch over time and eventually either don't tighten or loosen as well. Perhaps it will never be an issue anyway! Great tool, and couldn't be happier.

Love this saw!

Boedi November 6, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brother bought one of these first, sold me the first time I saw it being used. Cut 128 feet of 1/2” plywood decking for ridge vent on my house. I bought one the next day. So handy not having a cord getting in the way. Only downside is I had just bought a dewalt worm gear corded circular saw... that one barely gets used by anymore. Would recommend this cordless saw any day.

Accurate and will last till the job is done!

Michael S June 24, 2019

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my 20V Dewalt for 8 months and love it! The battery has always lasted long enough to complete a project. I also have another circular saw from a competitor and the Dewalt is build better to help give a more accurate cut!

With one exception, a fine tool

RTDENG January 1, 2018

I've had this saw for several months and have found it most capable for a cordless tool, especially when coupled with Dewalt's larger power packs. HOWEVER, I find engaging the safety switch to enable the trigger to be very difficult, especially with gloves. Why it was not designed with the switch on top of the handle is beyond me. Having to reach around the grip to depress the switch laterally is neither convenient nor particularly safe because now your making unnatural hand movements to engage the saw. Very poor design concept. I've tried (unsuccessfully) several times to make this comment on Dewalt's home page but have never been able to open the app. This is the first Dewalt tool that I have had a MAJOR complaint with and have decided to lived with the purchase...but ever time I use it, I find myself swearing at the design. For this reason, I would not recommend it to a friend.

Why such a crappy safety!!

Honest carpenter May 14, 2022

Overall the saw has good power and battery life. It has cut everything I have asked if it was a professional carpenter, but What I don't understand is why they chose to put a safety switch on it that forces you to move you entire grip to activate the saw. The safety they put on the 6 1/2 inch saw is easy to quickly access and start cutting. I HATE THE SAFETY ON THIS ONE! I love most of the DeWalt tools I use, I have 30 of them keeping the same battery for a cordless saw was a priority, but if I was just starting my set of cordless tools, based on this one. I would have gone Milwaukee for the safety switch they went with!

Good tool, poor manual

kc80 June 22, 2026

Tool is fine but good luck trying to read the included manual. The text couldn't be any smaller and, for God knows why, they use light grey text on greyish/off-white paper (basically zero contrast between background and text). They seem to be aware that the color black exists, since they used it for the titles of each section, but chose not to use it for the important stuff, like the instructions. So I can find the section I need but can't read any of it. I guess when corners are cut that includes replacing the toner.

Sole plate is off

FelixAntoineT July 23, 2025

Sole plate is 1/8” off from the blade alignment. I Did not notice for several months, but it became clear something was wrong. There is no adjustment for this and I'm out of the return period, so I'm stuck with it now...

Shoe adjustment and bevel stops impossible

BAM711 October 13, 2019

Had saw 1 month, shoe not square to blade out of box, adjusted shoe to square and there is no way to re-zero the bevel index so that the index reads zero when it is actually zero or is accurate at any indexed bevel including the bevel stops. The bevel stops are not accurate out of box and worse after adjusting shoe to square with blade. Changing blades has same result. Saw is useless except to make square cuts with shoe adjusted to +3 degrees on bevel index. DeWALT fail.
