This is a solid saw, Dewalt makes great hardware
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Saw about a month ago and so far I'm loving it. It's definitely a step up from using a hand saw and miter box. The 12" blade may have been a bit over kill for my uses, but I wanted something that I could grow into as I became more experience with woodworking. My first project was to build a miter saw work stand that would fit on a couple of saw horses. Then I decided I wanted to place that on its on rolling cart so I could move it around the garage "shop" easier, so that was the immediate next project. This Saw had made my projects much easier to work on, and I've already completed some nice outdoor furniture pieces. The blade doesn't appear to deflect any, makes cuts though 2x8's easily in one chop. I have cut some 1x10's and 1x12's, I just had to flip the board over to finish the cuts. The angle is easy to set and has several positive stops on the most common angles used. The one thing that has caused me a little confusion is that the bolt securing the blade is reverse thread. One just had to watch that when switching blades so that they don't over tighten and brake the bolt when they mean to be loosening it. Or, stand there trying to get the bolt started for several seconds by twisting the wrong way (guilty). Overall sends to be a good sturdy saw. Hopefully will last me for quite a while.
Need I say anything but you get a quality product from Dewalt! This is why every Carpenter is equipped with Dewalt tools, what's going to be interesting is will these professionals switch to batteries or the duel power products. I will not make a purchase unless I ask a carpenter about tool selection first even if I have to flag them down!
I had this saw in my old shop and l used it all the time. Moved and now in a new location and this was my first purchase to start woodworking again. Have the folding stand which makes a very stable combination. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought this saw in January after spending many months researching miter saws. It was my first time purchasing a miter saw, and as a homeowner and DIYer, I knew that I wanted a high quality saw that would last many years, but didn't need every upgrade available. This saw has delivered on every front! It was easy to set up, the blade was perfectly square right out of the box, and makes consistent, accurate cuts every time. I've used it to make a variety of cuts on a number of projects and have been very happy with it every time. If you're looking for a great value that doesn't compromise on quality, this is the saw for you! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
item 3 years ago it's okay doing good job it's an older model Moreno why are you doing here it's way past your bedtime I
Bought this to remodel my basement. Solid build and very accurate. DEWALT is my go to for all power tools.
Bought this saw close to a year ago and it is currently on my second home remodel as well as a number of woodworking projects. It cuts dead on and stay that way without and fiddling around. The only blades ive used so far are finish blades and even with those it doesnt feel slow cutting through joists or posts. I always feel completely confident in this saw. The one thing i wish it had was a small gap between the fence and the table where some dust could hide and not have to be blown out between each cut. Defective. The guard bracket screw will not come out to change the blade. It has blue stuff on it that looks like Loctite and the wrench that came with the saw is starting to strip it. I googled this issue and found lots of people on message boards that had the same problem with this saw right out of the box. Yet, DeWalt keeps selling saws with this defect. DeWalt Support suggested I send it to a mail-in program that doesn't take miter saws. The only other suggestion is a repair shop that's an hour away which I'll have to take off from work to go to. Don't waste your money.
Bevel angle gauge on the right hand side is terrible for reference view vs the other saws (DWS716, 779, etc) that have the bevel gauge in the middle of the saw. Also, the screw to adjust the angle on the bevel gauge is difficult to either reach with a regular screwdriver or undo with a shorty. The 45 degree cuts on the can't be fully made with the top fence of the left hand side attached due to the blade guard arm (black piece) hitting the fence. A simple solution would have been a cut slot in the top fence to allow use. Aluminum fence came from the factory out of square vertically with the base, for which no adjustment directions are given. Will ask for a warranty replacement.
