DeWalt Oscillating Cutting and Sanding Multi Tool

I had an old off brand oscillating tool that was quite underpowered I decided to upgrade. I'm glad I made this purchase I like the toolless blade change the additional power and the outstanding value of this purchase thank you.

I used it to cut out some rotten wood on my mothers house I couldn’t get to with a saws all and it worked great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't think there's an end to all the different things a person can do with this multi-tool. Most recently I trimmed the end off a piece of PVC that was coming through a wall. The pipe has a hose inside that I did not want to damage. I was able to get the multi-tool in-between the studs and trim the plastic pipe precisely. Really slick, and fast.

When I have to use a multitool for an extended period of time on a project at home, I prefer to use this one. My hand doesn't go numb! My only complaint is the cord length. I do wish it was longer. Otherwise, this is a solid mutlitool.

The only tool I reach for more often is my Dewalt 20 volt drill. I prefer the corded versions of some tools, my last oscillating tool was battery powered and its performance just didn't match what I get from the Dewalt. I have had this tool for a couple of years now and use it often. It really helps me get in tight spots. However, as a carpenter/painter, I really wish DeWalt would make a sanding profile accessory for this tool. I have purchased after-market profile attachments for sanding moldings, balusters, etc., but they do not last long. There is a market for these attachments. Please DeWalt, consider this.

I have purchased 2 other oscillating saws which both have failed for the same reason. The first situation the pins sheared off which held the blades. The second one the teeth failed to hold the blade. This unit has locked the blade and works very well.

My significant other and I bought this tool as part of our first home renovation and it has been our go-to tool for many jobs. We have used it to cut through wood, drywall and metal; sanding wood; removing linoleum; and all manner of repair and demolition work. We did have an issue after a few months where the motor started to cut out, so we had to get in contact with DEWALT to send it in for repair. There was no issue with it being covered under their warranty and we got it back in a reasonable amount of time. Having to deal with this with a new tool was a little frustrating, but it hasn't stopped us from using it all the time. I would absolutely recommend this as a good tool to have around for all kinds of purposes. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I bought the item April 19, 2018 from Sears. Dewalt always been my favorite tool. Cause of durability and known name. I used it to remodel my Daughter room and Works perfectly fine. Then was put on aside for my next projects.. ti'l this December 23, 2019. I decided to make my son a Skateboard Ramp Quarter pipe for his Christmas gift. Turn it on to use the sander, and 5 minutes later while using it. Suddenly stop working. It doesn't vibrate. Very disappointed, cause I barely use the tool for small project. Not even used for any heavy works.. and didn't last.. was planning to remodel my Bathroom in future with it. now tools quit on me. I was relying Dewalt tools to last forever, but now I'm very disappointed...

Purchased a couple years ago, use once in a while. Thought the tool was good for used in those hard to reach areas to cut wood & metal. Went to use today, oscillating stopped working. I read on line it is probably the bearing. Motor is working, light works, blade is standing still. Will continue to replace my Dewalts with better quality tools going forward.
